Player watching
« on: August 17, 2020, 09:06:29 PM »
Happen to see Perez, Lewis and Koby working on there 3 point shooting.  First impression,  Perez is a man physically, see him more as a wing, can shoot the 3.  Liked
what I saw on him.  Lewis is tall, but not thick as some people think.  Do not see him guarding a center at this time,  3 point shooting needs alot of work, form is good,
just did not put it in the basket (I saw the end of practice, so he was not fresh),  looks like Jamil Wilson in body form.  Then comes Koby, was shooting the ball well, physically
looks solid, stronger, shot was really good, but he was not taking ridiculous jump shots that we saw last year.   More of a controlled shot, if he does that he would be
much better.  Never know until you turn on the lights.  All 3 were working hard, had a good teacher to work them, Travis Diener.

Was this at the Al? Were you able to walk in and watch practice/open gym or whatever it was?

Also, on that note: is the whole team on campus now?

Saw on Instagram that Sy is out training with Markus right now. Seeing these players together (and Dawson and Oso out in Minn a few weeks ago) love the camaraderie this group has.

Tell me it was the old gym. I loved that place. Is it still a gym? I hope it never changes.

The registration process, hoping to get an early registration time to get the classes at the time you want.
Wow, so long ago seems like a dream.

What year was this taken? I can’t say I recognize anybody but they look like my contemporaries.

I was thinking the same.  Based on the styles, etc. I would guess this at somewhere around 1980.

This looks unusually uncrowded.

One semester, I got an 8:10 AM registration time (or something like that) and it was less crowded than this.  I had all my classes registered, my books purchased and was back in bed by 9:00.

Brew - in that case it was 10+ years after my time.

I am going to go with 83-85.    Based on the styles and the guy in the '83' T-shirt that still kind of fits.    It was a thing then to wear a T-shirt with the year you graduated on it.    So, I think he graduated from somewhere in 1983.    Also, it is fall registration, as no one is bundled up.   However, there aren't any shorts, either,

Remember having IBM punch cards for registration way back in the day.  Picked them up at the tables in the old gym and turned them in for processing to register for courses.

I'd guess this is an August registration because of people wearing short sleeves.  But a number of jackets also showing up.  Gotta look good no matter the heat in the gym.

I think it's older than that. No facial hair, no jeans, some sport jackets on the guys. I remember the punch cards. Most with short hair. Everyone white. Could be the 50's.

I agree with Tower. In fact, I think the guy in the ‘83 t-shirt, was on our floor freshman year in McCormick. I’m quite sure he’s standing next to ... I’ll PM you his name, to honor privacy.

Got your PM and you could very well be right.

Standing in the line to our right of '83' and just one or two people ahead is another person who may be from our floor.    Huge metal fan with the first semester roommate from Fredonia, NY.

84-85 7th floor McCormick, for those keeping score at home.

Seems right.  The middle part-feathered hair of the guy at the foreground table screams early 80s.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Cold day in August in Milwaukee would not be shocking.

I could be 4th in line on the right.  Prob not, but has my '83 vibe (class of '86).  Jean jacket or jack-shirt. Bunch of hair. 6'3" so taller than the other students in line.  Distracted from the task at hand.

On the other hand, looks like that guy showered.
