you obviously haven't watched enough MU basketball to claim that and/or don't know crap about basketball

Rowsey's footwork in on-ball defense is... lacking. He has never shown the lateral quickness to keep someone from taking him off the bounce and forcing our defense into a help/rotation situation. A good enough player is able to blow by him and is either presented with a floater/midrange shot or a potential dish to multiple levels depending on how the help defense develops.

I haven't really focused on Acker's on ball defense in the exact comparable situation, but I haven't noticed that happening to him with regularity so I'm going to assume that Acker is at least able to present *at least* slightly more of an obstacle off the bounce on the perimeter.

Nobody is looking for Rowsey to turn himself into senior-year Dominic James for on-ball defensive pressure, but he's got to show more or his offensive ability simply doesn't cancel out the opportunities he presents to the opposition.

Virginia won the last NCAA championship game.

With the #2 rated offense in the country on kenpom (defense was good too at #5).

Virginia won the last NCAA championship game.

Because they had a lottery pick and some other NBA players on the roster.  Defense, offense...what matters is having guys that will play in the association

Good quote that seems to run against the obvious fact that Sideline Cancer is evil and should probably be destroyed:
Quote
The winner will get $1 million, the loser will get nothing. And if Sideline Cancer wins, $100,000 will go to pancreatic cancer research. So it’s Maruqette vs. the Cinderella story with the undersized star and a big donation to cancer research. Honestly, I’m not even sure Marquette alumni should be rooting for Marquette.

Pancreatic cancer is evil---terribly, terribly evil---and must be destroyed.
I will still root for MU but anything that helps destroy that disease is a big plus.

Agreed. Tonight I am going to wear the PanCan awareness socks our WLAX team wore a few years ago to support both Marquette and the eradication of the disease that has taken two of my family members, including my mom. If anyone is feeling a little bit torn, you can join me in going to pancan.org and donating tonight.

Go Marquette.

I'm not taking for granted how special this team/program has been. Tough to top nostalgia, and yet they've done it year after year. So I had to try and capture it in a column.

I just saw on Twitter Crean, Diener, and DJO talking with Seth Greenberg. I am shocked Buzz hasn’t been on with all the former players of his on the MU team. I figured he’d take any chance to get on the camera.

They interviewed Tom Crean during one of the games and if I understood correctly he said he was in a text group with former players not just his era but from all different ones and the guys were all very close.

Buzz isn't half the marketer that Crean is.

True, but Greenberg is a buddy of his if I remember correctly.

Buzz doesn’t care about any school he coaches at. It’s all about himself at every step of the way. Which would be a totally valid way to be if he didn’t put on such a false front.

Weird question:  Does Vegas set lines for these games?

I seem to recall FanDuel or DraftKings on the screen during last game.

Fired up for this one.  Championship MU basketball in JULY...yes please!

Perfect summary of my feelings watching our teams in TBT. Thanks for sharing!

Also for those saying Buzz has no connection to this, there is a cool tweet of his in the article
