If Mane committs could  our Top 5 in minutes next year be newcomers?

No chance.

Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Good for you, Doc. I know it wasn't easy for you to have to put away the green wienie.

You can't enjoy anything. Must be sad to be so filled with hate. Go find willie and commiserate.

Dramatic much?  Drama Queen:  Synonyms:  MU82, MU82, MU82.

For a journalist of your caliber and your quest for the truth and facts at all times, not sure how you get that I'm "so filled with hate," because Carton elevates us to a bubble team?  That's great, considering how things were looking.

Go have a beer, get some, and calm down.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Not to take away from the moment, but I do find myself wondering how good this past season could have been if Carton had committed to us straight out of high school. Starting backcourt of Carton, Howard, and Anim with Koby coming off the bench instead of playing major minutes? That could have been something to see.

Of course, it would have ended the same way regardless

So instead of just getting our hearts ripped out, they'd have gotten ripped out, stomped on, and then cast into the Milwaukee River?

Of course Potrykus has to write the article this week, and just can't help himself from tweaking MU fans..

He could file for a wavier to play immediately in 2020-21 but is also reportedly considering a pro career if he does not receive a waiver.

Amen about Potrykus. I have no beef with Oates though

Lennys Tap

Wow. If immediately eligible, this class is surely at least top 10. If we add Mane, it becomes Marquette's version of the Fab 5.

Either way, major props to Wojo. I was interested but concerned  about the the upcoming season. Now I'm interested and excited. Karim Mane, c'mon down!

You know what, Ners? I shouldn't have used the word "hate." It was too strong, and I have no proof that you hate Wojo or anybody else.

But here we are, trying to enjoy that our alma mater landed the best transfer on the market to cap one of the best recruiting classes in the country, and all you can do is take a dump on it.

The "bubble" comment was your third of the thread so far, and all of them took shots at Wojo. Even some of Wojo's biggest Scoop critics resisted doing so, but not you -- once, twice, thrice.

So yes, "hate" was too strong. Joyless maybe? So determined to take shots that you can't let others celebrate, perhaps? Incapable of admitting you didn't know what you were talking about in the transfer portal thread when you said Wojo couldn't land any transfers because "the word on the street" on him was bad?

I wish we were together, buddy, because I think it's you who needs the beer, and I'd be happy to quaff one with you. This was a tremendous get for our coach and our program, and I'm going to enjoy it. I suggest you at least try to do likewise.

It wasn't the least bit hard for Doc to "put away the green weenie". As always, he's happy when Marquette succeeds.

And Elon is "full of hate" because he congratulated Wojo and pointed out (as others did) that this (theoretically) moved us from the 78th to the 53rd best team next year? I think a 25 slot jump with possibly more help on the way is exciting!

Everybody is happy. Why can't you accept that and let it be?

This is great for the program.  I hope the young man gets the support he needs at MU and can excel on the court.

The dark side of this is it means the offense won't change.  MU will have a ball dominant PG again, not enough ball movement, possibility of too much hero ball.
The bright side is that this guy has much better assist ratio than previous MU ball dominant PG's which, if the other guys make their shots, could be pretty to watch.  He's also bigger and longer than the last two ball dominant PG's.

Give me a break. Nothing will come close to last season in terms of being one-dimensional. There is no dark side of getting a 5- star stud PG transfer. The dark side is getting nobody at all.

As you know from reading this entire thread, Ners took shots at Wojo in all 3 comments he made on what should only be a celebratory night. Even Doc seems happy ... and all of us are grateful because none of us want to see his wienie!

OK ... I'll call BS on myself ... Would you believe that I could really slam home a tennis ball on an 8-foot hoop?

It seems possible that Carton notified MU before both Burton and Turner announced they made a decision.

Hope we get to see these guys play this year as it should be a fun team.

I'll give credit when it's due.

Nice... Growth is possible... I watched Markus Senior Night comments tonight on his reflection on his time at Marquette and wondered if Hutch is Clutch would appreciate the holistic impact he has  had on the program beyond 12 frustrating games WOJO coached. I appreciated HUTCH and his 12 PPG average in CUSA competition through MDG view. We appreciate Markus being a Brand builder for Marquette basketball in modern day college basketball.

Yes, now comes the coaching part, can Wojo coach the team to another mediocre season or perhaps surpass that?
