Markus a Wooden Award Finalist
« on: April 01, 2020, 05:13:46 PM »
One of five. Congrats to Markus, once again well deserved.

I wonder if the people who thought Markus not being a Naismith Player of the Year finalist was a shock only to Marquette fans are shocked by this.

The guy was a generational, special talent who was a class act on and off the court to top it off. Glad he spent 4 years here.

The player descriptions made me laugh.

"Toppin won AP POY with 20 pts and 7 reb a game"
"Howard led the nation in points with 27.8 and Garza was fifth with 23.9"
"Azubuike led Kansas to a #1 ranking in the final poll and led the country in FG%"

....

"Powell averaged 21 pts for 15th ranked Seton Hall"

Pretty much fits how far he is from the other 4.  No matter what the East Coast media love fest says

Powell as a finalist is laughable. He was so bad for the vast majority of the year.
