Greg isn't conditioned enough? What the hell are you talking about. Wojo took his jacket off that was about the extent of his adjustments

Greg has publicly talked about struggling to get into game shape after injuries. Did you even read what I posted?

Not a Badger fan.  Son of an alum, an alum, father of two alum.  Been here from the jump.  My point was MU won't do anything to change this.  MU Admin is happy being mid to lower half of BEast.

That's false.  But you are right they won't do anything.

Greg, Cain and Sy were a +35. Seems straightforward who to start with an arse on the line. MU won 75% of today's game, while stomach fluing the other 25%.

Three starters averaged -16  can't win a ball game that way. It's obvious from the stats who should start
We are far more aggressive and dangerous with the ball in Sacar's hands bringing it up.

Marcus92

I'd like to know the odds of winning any game once you fall behind by 20+, as we've done in 3 of our last 4 losses. That's not competitive basketball. You're just not giving yourself much of a chance to win.

Serious question...has MH ever hit a shot to send game into OT or win a game??

I was at the game.  When Markus was walking it up instead of running down 2 with 13 seconds to go, I started putting my coat on.  Every MU fan in the building knew what was going to happen, either a 3 with two players draped all over him or drive into a crowd with a turnover or a prayer.  If we want him to take the last shot and you have that kind of time someone else has to bring the ball up and we have to screen to get him open, and if he doesn't get open take the ball to the hoop.

The place was more than half empty, quietest I have ever seen MSG for a game.  If you think we're bad, we were sitting amongst some St Johns fans, and they were expecting a collapse at halftime.  When they were up 12-0, they were betting each other if Marquette would reach double figures before they scored again.  They were funny guys and at least I enjoyed that.

The SJU player really made a great play. He had to reach across Markus without fouling to knock that ball away.

Understood.  Simply meant that by doing nothing the admin sends the message they are fine with mediocrity.  I understand what they put in financially/resources would indicate otherwise.  It just seems Woj has lost a good 60% of the fan base.  People are melting down in the arena and lashing out at parents of players.  This is an amazing sociological experiment.

Yep. Actions speak louder than words. If they don't move on from Wojo they're telling us what they expect through inaction

Correct. This isn't the Father Wild regime. Lovell is a hack. The AD is a Notre Dame guy. Just happy to be 18-12, clean program. Total cluelessness on what MU hoops means to MU. Our future is our present.

It also didn't go down like that, but hey. Let's keep spreading that line too.

What irritates me is that it took so long to experiment with different lineups when it's been obvious who is and isn't effective of late.

Throughout his history at MU, he doesn't make a great deal of in season adjustments.  By and large, he does the same thing.  He seems convinced that his way is the best way, and that the players simply need to perform correctly.

I had the game on, but was doing a bunch of stuff at the same time, so I didn't really see the timeouts like others have.  But if Stan is the one that was actually directing the team, that to me is also disturbing.

Mr. Sand-Knit

I realize brendan bailey has looked like a deer in the headlights the last 4 weeks and along with Koby has slowed the ball down, turned the ball over and bricked shots.  We all know this.  Maybe the most disappointing part of it all is he no longer rebounds either!! Zero Yesterday.
Unfortunately zero confidence in our coach to not continue playing the players that are performing the worst

As someone else put it a short while back, Wojo's adjustment to something that's not working is, try harder!!

I realize this is oversimplifying it but yeah, he struggles mightily when the script isn't working. This is the biggest reason I've concluded he's just not a good coach. He has no counterpunch.

He is a systems coach and thinks the answers lie somewhere within the execution of his systems once he settles on his lineup. It's the Duke Way. It's less about match-ups for him.

As the past couple of seasons have shown, the second and third time through his teams get rolled. Same thing with his record versus KPom 25. I mean, the odds of MU losing ALL those 12 games at the end of the past two seasons (with most games MU being favored in) were to the fifth decimal place infinitesimal.

One of the reasons I am happy X lost is that he would have rolled the same lineup out against DU, afraid of the L. With the opponent SH, he might change it up. If he doesn't take this chance to mix it up, I don't know what to tell you.

Yep.  I was dumbfounded when they began showing the in the huddle segments 5 years ago:  "You gotta fight."  "Compete.  Compete.  Compete."  "Play angry."  Just a few of the gems we've heard.

It comes as no surprise though.  Wojo is the inventor of the floor slap.  He's the stereotypical poster boy for the try hard white guy.  Why some would expect him to be able to coach with nuance, intuition, or feel would be just as ridiculous as asking an artist to become a meathead.

wadesworld

I love when people complain about the in the huddle segments.

As Wojo said in his post-game interview with Homer, when asked about those changes :  " Sometimes it's desperate times "....   8-)
