it sounds like it was the insurance company and not UNI, but everything seems to have been worked out and he's coming out slightly ahead.

In my freshman year, a guy from my hall in McCormick hit the halfcourt shot for tuition.  This would have been akin to saying "no money for you as you had a foot on the line."

Thank you for that info. Given what seems to clearly have happened and what seemed like the rules that were most understood at the time, this was the right thing to do.
