He acted like a cancer! Ridiculous! Al would’ve bare knuckled him before they got to the tunnel!

Psh Al wouldn’t have even recruited him with that grass in the front yard.

So if we are down 10 and the guy makes 9 points to narrow the lead but misses a free throw....that isn’t clutch...do I have this correct?

Foul the league's best FT shooting team with 40+ seconds to go in a one possession game?
That's remarkably dumb.

Is it? The option we chose gave us a best case scenario of getting the ball back down 3 with 10 seconds to go. Which we achieved. And what do you think most coaches do in that scenario? They foul, eliminating our chance to tie.

Extending the game is the only real chance we had tonight. Even if Nova is a good FT shooting team.

Burnt grass?

Sand?

I don’t know where those fall in the grass to concrete recruiting scale.

Going to go in order of tough to soft:
Concrete
Burnt Grass
Grass
Sand

You are incorrect.  In order to win/tie down by 3 with 40 seconds left the following has to happen:  1.get a stop.  2 Get a defense rebound.  Knowing that Villanova would then foul, 3. make first free throw 4.  Get an offensive rebound 5. Score again.  All 5 of those things happening is highly unlikely.

I’d rather take my chances extending the game and fouling down 3.  Maybe Nova misses a free throw, maybe Marquette forces a turnover after a score.

Either situation sucks to be in, but I would not call fouling “remarkably dumb.”

Yes. It's dumb. Very dumb. It's hardly even debatable.
How does extending the game help when you're down two possessions the entire time? It doesn't.
Feel free to argue otherwise. It's says all we need to know about you.

After year two?!?!?!?

Actually after 10 games in Year 1. Realize 10 games/end of Year 2 is a very short leash, but in my view he didn’t have “it.”

Wojo is a good guy, hard worker, class act, yet just don’t think he’s a Top 20 program caliber head coach.

You have stated that Markus is an all time great at MU...to think we’ve yet to win an NCAA tournament game with him in program?  That doesn’t reflect well on Wojo, IMO.

What about a bunch of lightly fractured concrete slabs?

As he sits in the Top 20 for the second straight year.

Al could work with that. Might get something out of them by their senior year.

Let's just hope this top 20 team doesn't end the year the same way as last year's top 20 team.

Then you would be wrong.
Even if Nova misses a free throw, you're down two possessions now instead of one.
The chances of Villanova missing a shot and MU getting the rebound are much better than the 7th best FT shooting team in the country missing multiple free throws to keep the score close.
And no, if Markus doesn't miss that first free throw, then he doesn't have to miss the second. Odds are, your 85 percent FT shooter makes both, setting up a 1-point game. Now you're in position to go for a steal/TO on the inbounds and then foul to extend the game. At worst, you're still down only one possession with about 5 seconds to go and with a timeout in hand.

With one brother mad because Markus yelled at him and the other mad because Markus shoots too much?

I don’t think we’ll have that problem.

you have very low reading comprehension. I stated the last couple possessions of the game is what determines a clutch player or not. Also, clutch players usually have postseason success....

You haven’t been around since bitching the second half of the X game...which we won.

Why is that?

Fortunately, Ja’s testicles have moved from Joey Hauser’s tearful chin to the NBA ROTY award.

As he sits in the Top 20 for the second straight year.

We weren’t a legit Top 20 team last year. Big East blew, and we got blasted by a mid-major...not to mention Big East as a whole blew on NCAA last year.

Care to wager on if we are a Top 20 team next year, in Year 7?

I’m glad we are in Top 20 right now, yet it is also concerning that this seems to be high water mark with a generational talent at MU in Markus.
