Wojo in OT
« on: January 29, 2020, 11:41:40 PM »
So...based on this post, I went back and looked...

Pathetic statemnt wojo is 10-2 in OTs

Not quite right - by my count Wojo is 11-4 in OT games...
2015: 0-2
2016: 3-0
2017: 1-0
2018: 3-0
2019: 3-0
2020: 1-2

So, despite an under-performance this year, and the bad 1st year, Wojo has been killing it in OT games.  You can argue whether or not MU should have been in 15 OT games in 6 years, but when Wojo gets the team to OT, a win is almost expected.

Sounds like the results of a soft team that reflects its coach

Correct i meant to say he was 10-2 in his last 12. Now 11-2.  A clear indication of a bad coach.

Wojo's in game coaching strengths are initial game planning and the small chess moves to win specific possessions. The numbers on his out of timeout plays, both offense and defense, have been stellar for the past few seasons. He struggles with countermoves if the opposing coach does something unexpected or adjusts to beat the initial gameplan. I think this contributes to the number of blowout losses and the good record in OT and close games.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.
