9 assists, one turnover.   Clutch free throws.   It is one thing to miss 3s, it is another to get to the rack and miss lay ups.  He and Sacar both need to do a better job of finishing through contact.
I would add, he played the best defense on McClung.

Yes...when Markus was on Mac, Mac saw this opportunity...drove hard...and drew fouls on MH. I can’t recall a foul on Koby that Mac drew on an aggressive drive.

Outstanding article in the Athletic about the game.

Some Scoopers won't like it, though, as the writer complimented both Markus and Wojo.

These are the kind of games we need to be winning to solidify an invitation to the NCAA tournament.

Great team effort.

He made it interesting late with the crowd pass and diving late at 3 point shooter costing 3 points in crucial moments late, but overall I will take the assists to turnovers all day today. Didn't force too many bad shots which is also important. Just needs to keep playing under control but still aggressive. Controlled aggression and he'll be fine.

I would add, he played the best defense on McClung.

I would also add that multiple times late Sacar tried to get Markus to switch on top of key pick and rolls on D when Markus wasn't doing it. A few wide open makes there.

Markus has improved defensively but he had no chance with McClung today. Sacar did ok on him but McEwen really did a nice job on D. In fact, very good all-around game from Koby.

Today was a good example of how we have several good role players -- even if those guys aren't always smooth offensively. Koby, Sacar, BB, Theo and Jayce all contributed a lot of good stuff.

Jayce knows his role and is getting healthier.   His role is to use his 7 foot frame like Otule with two good eyes.  Occupy space, bang with bigs, fight for every rebound, get the occasional post up and put back.   He isn't a star and doesn't need to be.   But he is definitely contributing.

MU beat the Hoyas despite our bigs being in phantom foul trouble. Despite a Markus three being taken off the board.  Despite McClung getting BS weak calls. Despite Gtown being on fire from 3pt range. Despite some crucial missed free throws. Despite being on the road.

The team overcame a lot today to get a win. Great game gentlemen!
First off, that was a fun, fun game.  Games like that are why I love college basketball.  It was tense, there weren't a lot of turnovers and we played with a lot of grit, hustle and determination.

Two, Markus was great, but one of things that made me feel good is that we scored with high efficiency when he sat for a stretch for fouls in the first half.

Third, a lot of fouls are called on Theo because he fouls a lot.  He gets caught fouling people away from the basket on the hedge a lot.  He uses his hands to push off for position a lot.  At some we need to stop saying the refs have it in for him.

Finally, as weird as this may sound, I think not having Ed Morrow today was a good thing.  He would not have been able to handle those two Georgetown centers with their size and don't think he would have been as effective as Jayce and Theo even playing carefully.  I think Theo played better position defense today when he got in foul trouble.

I thought two of Theo's fouls today were total BS. I thought the same about two of Jayce's.

I'm tired of guys reputations being used as justification for getting calls. If it's a foul call it. If it isn't don't. That goes for players on offense as well. McClung got several weak calls, while Markus had a three wiped off the scoreboard on another BS call.

I'm glad Marquette won, but with Ed gone the team cannot afford to have Theo and Jayce getting unearned fouls. Especially against the better teams in the conference. Those calls could have very easily cost Marquette the Georgetown game.

1.  Can Theo breathe without getting called for a foul?
2.   Jayce is stepping up.
3.  McEwen was doing so well other than shooting until the last 3 minutes.  Thanks for the late free throws.
4.  I despise McClung.  But I question Ewing's choice to sit him late.
5.  Almost saw no bigs for anybody by the end.
6.  Like Jan Brady kind of said, 'Markus, Markus, Markus.'.  Except for free throws.  If his 3 off the offensive board had gone with 3 minutes to go, it would have been the dagger.
7.  Greg, heal faster.  Need the depth.
8.  Wojo went to the slowdown too soon.
9.  Free throws matta late.
10.  Wojo fouled late up 3.  It worked.
11.  Conference road wins are golden.   Grab it and run with no apologies.
Do you just "despise" any player on an opposing team that is good? I've watched many G town games this year. I've not seen anything that I consider inappropriate or punkish. The kid busts his ass and seems like a good representative of their program. Perhaps reconsider your views.

Very enjoyable game.
Markus was once again awesome.
It felt to me like the first time MU was able to impose their game plan and force the opponents to try to react.
Running a few plays for the bigs really helps the overall offense.  Nice to see this and great to see them execute.

What really bothers me is the random officiating.  I really felt like 2/3 of the fouls called (both ways, by the way) were totally random.  The same exact thing was not a foul on previous and subsequent possessions.  That gave the game kind of a video game feel where random stuff just happens out of the blue and now you have to deal with it.  Maybe that's the future of college basketball.  Other games have felt that way this year, but this one had to be the worst.

Koby played great D.
Not doubling their bigs was a tough call but it worked.
2 bigs really doesn't bother me.  It seemed to me that the whole team forced things when Ed was in the game.
Great win.

One of the Jayce fouls (3rd?) was a total make up call for a Yurtseven foul immediately before that. What do you expect from a James Breeding crew?

I'll try to defend Tower a bit here. Some of your scolding phrases which are key: "despise" (your quotes); "I consider"; "seems like". All opinions--just like Tower.
As fans, it is fun to root against an opposing player, and designate a particular one a punk. Whether it is McClung, Gillespie, any No Dick player, and almost any Wisconsin player, and of course that all time punk, Diefendorker from Syracuse. Point is, there is nothing wrong with having a designated punk on any opponents, especially our big time rivals. Adds to our enthusiasm to win. After all, this is just college basketball.
