I believe Buzz’s Texas A&M Team is the lowest major conference team at 281.

This I do not understand.  Sure, Bucky beat us head-to-head, but their stats otherwise suck.

Wisconsin: 5-5, Q1 0-3, Q2 2-2, Q3 0-0, Q4 3-0
Marquette: 7-2, Q1 0-2, Q2 3-0, Q3 1-0, Q4 3-0

The only advantage Wisco has is in the average opponent rank.  Theirs is 12th best, but ours is "only" 36th best.

First and foremost, any ranking that has Dayton at #10 is highly suspect, full stop.

But even ignoring UD, keep in mind that - beyond the fact that the NET formula still has not been released (i.e. they may still be making tweaks to the formula) - we're still dealing with a very small data set of 9-10 games, which becomes even smaller once you remove the cupcakes outliers that yield little to no influence for most of the teams in the top 100 or so.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

NET isn't dumb....it's just dumb at the beginning of the year.....by the end of the season it will be a useful tool.....much better then the RPI was.......

Yep.  We had the same outrage last year.

But it's still dumb.
What's the point of a ranking system that provides wildly inaccurate results, even if only initially?

I recall that - early on - the NCAA didn't release the RPI rankings until sometime in February... it wasn't until the formula was being replicated by ESPN, dailyRPI, and others that they relented.

Frankly, I thought such might have been the impetus to keeping the NET formula confidential, i.e. they could go back to releasing the rankings later in the season when they had a better element of accuracy/relevance to them.  But nope, evidently not.

It’s as if the ranking system is not very valuable this time of year.

As you know, there is a huge diff b/w between inaccurate/nearly useless but will be “ok” later as compared to good, but will get better.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

It’s of not much value today as shown by some of the schools in the top 25 that will be nowhere near there in four weeks.  Yes, it has some value, but it is limited at this time.

The Badgers will clearly end up #1 after Wilt "don't call me Harry" Potter plays.
