OMG, we are watching Wonder Woman 1984.

Awful from the very first minute.  All 4 of us agreed to fast forward an hour .. see if it got better.  It did not.

They are lucky the pandemic closed theaters and this is streaming on HBO.

It's just atrocious.

I actually kinda liked the flashback to start it.

But everything plummeted from there.

Watched Tenet last night.  It was alright.  Two things:

1. I feel terrible for whoever edited that movie.
2.  The sound mix was terrible, and made large portions of the movie difficult to understand.  Voices too low or muffled.

My buddy watched it the other night and said the exact same thing as #2.  He was super excited, has a great set up with surround sound...and said he and his fiancée were so pissed off part of the way through they had to turn on closed captioning just to try and understand dialogue.  He wasn’t sure if it was some artistic BS or just a horrific sound mix

I saw it in theaters. Sound was just as inaudible. I’ll probably rewatch with subtitles. I heard it helps.

Got Apple TV+ for six months or something free with Verizon I think.  I don't know, my wife set it up, but anyway, that is not the point of this post.

The first show we starting watching is Ted Lasso.  It is pretty good.  Check it out if you have Apple TV.  American football coach with no soccer experience goes to England and is the coach of AFC Richmond in the premier league.  Enjoyable program.

We just got it free with a phone...planning to watch Ted Lasso. I also want to watch Greyhound - the Tom Hanks WWII movie. I heard about it a while ago and was disappointed that I didn't have the streaming service to watch. Has anyone seen it? Is it good?

Honestly, I was really surprised by how little content Apple has on that service. Beyond Ted Lasso and Greyhound, I didn't see anything that particularly interested me.

It is bizarre.  They had a movie with Anthony Mackie called the Banker that was very good, Morning Show is good, Mythic Quest is very funny.  So their hit rate, at least for me, is pretty high...but that being said they don’t have a ton of content comparatively

Have not seen it but this is a fun conversation about it between Hanks and Dan Carlin, well worth the hour

I liked Greyhound, pretty incredible crossing without air cover or much in escorts.

You might want to check out The Morning Show. It's a little preachy, but there's a lot of good acting, including Steve Carell killin' it a (mostly) serious role.

Also, Defending Jacob. Quite good. Those two, and Ted Lasso, are the only things I found on Apple TV that interested me. We have another couple months after buying our iPhone, and then I'll probably say adios.

Watched Outside the Wire, the new Anthony Mackie Netflix movie. Found it really boring. Feel like this is becoming the norm in anything he’s the lead in.

Synchronic was pretty good with a interesting premise.

The Banker was good.  Triple 9 ended really stupid and was kind of ensemble, but he was one of the leads and it was entertaining

Watched the movie after the game. It was a very dark and depressing movie, but it actually cheered me up.

Sophie’s Choice would’ve seemed uplifting after that game.

Finally finished The Queen's Gambit over the weekend.  Fantastic! Very enjoyable.

Two episodes left of Season 4 of The Crown.  Intriguing and as good as the previous 3 seasons.  I agree, whoever here said Margaret Thatcher is awful.  There's like nothing admirable or likable about her at all other than her will to defend British citizens in the Falklands.  Refusing to boycott South Africa over apartheid because her son had business interests there and infuriating the Queen so much to break her "never commenting" on politics stance is stuff I don't remember being only 13-14 years old at the time.
