Late to the table, brewski. Just now read your entire list of potential Markus achievements -- quite a few of which he already has reached.

Tremendous research on your part. Thanks for doing what I'm sure was a labor of love.

by my count, Markus with 2,291 points is tied with Buddy Heild @ 176th on the all-time NCAA list.

2,400 points would jump 74 spots to 102nd

2,500 is 72nd
2,600 is 39th
2,700 is 26th

39 more and Markus is up to 2330 career points.  Jumping 39 spots from 176th to 137th on the all-time NCAA scoring list.

Among those passed this game:  Lew Alcindor, Jerry West, David Thompson, Rick Barry

Stands 1 point behind Andrew Rowsey's career total of 2331.

After Xavier Markus up to 2,392 career points.

By my count that puts him at #105 on the all-time NCAA scoring list.
Keith Lee, from Memphis State, sits at #100 with 2,408.

So in the first half at Georgetown, Markus becomes one of the 100 top scorers ever!

On a separate note, Howard's 35 against Xavier marks his 24th game with 30 or more points scored while at Marquette.

Wade with 6 such games, and Rowsey and Diener, each with 5 games of 30 or more, are next over the past 40 years.

How about for NCAA history? How many other players have had 24 (or even 20) games with 30 or more points scored?

Just checked the game logs and my raw count is 16 games of 30+ with less than 25 shots taken. An additional 2 or 3 right at 25 shots.

So, most of the 25+ shot games are this season?

I misunderstood your question. I thought you wanted to know how many of his 30+ point games required more than 25 shots. The answer to that is 8 of 24.

He has 3 games this year with 25+ shots. Davidson (26), Xavier (27), Providence (33)

He had 4 games last year of 25+ shots. We went 2-2.

He had 3 games two years ago with 25+ shots. We went 1-2.

So by my count he has taken 25 shots 10 times in his career. We are 5-5.

He had zero points at Georgetown last year.

He also played 3 minutes due to injury...so there's that.

Looking at the past few seasons Mike Daum @ South Dakota had 34 career games of 30 or more.
Chris Clemons from Campbell with 31.  McDermott had 27.

Jimmer Fredette had 16 games during his senior season.  8 prior to that season.

With 23, he passes Troy Bell, and with 40, Moten, to become the highest scorer in BE games.

He's still about 200 away from catching Moten for the Big East games only record.

2434.

96th all-time.  Within 10 to pass a few bigger names;  Steve Alford, Chris Mullin, Glen Rice.

Howard up to 4th all time in Big East play, passing Malik Sealy today. Just Luke Harangody, Terry Dehere, and Troy Bell ahead of him.
