I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Mr. Sand-Knit

Geez that is disappointing!,  was hoping he could be the 5 of the future in a year or two.  Poor kid all that work and never got to even step on the court.
Political free board, plz leave your clever quips in your clever mind.

GooooMarquette

Tough break for the kid, but it's great to see that he is working toward a Marquette degree.

MU Fan in Connecticut

That had to be tough for Ike.  He probably wants to play so bad.

dgies9156

Sorry to hear that. Seems like a strong young man both physically and emotionally.

Best to Ike and we hope to hear great things about him off the basketball court in the years ahead.

I'm sure he's been looking forward to getting on the court since signing with Marquette. Sorry to hear the news.

Bummer- feel bad for the kid.  Thought he was working his way back.

In other news, playing with an 11 man roster is kind of scary.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Especially with Greg out for now as well.  Best of wishes to Ike in his future endeavors off the court!

ATL MU Warrior

Feel for the guy. Was looking forward to seeing him get on the court.

Herman Cain

Ike is a great teammate and an asset to MU in general.  Working through a medical retirement is tough, but Ike definitely has the strength of character to build off this setback and reach higher levels. Glad he is staying part of the program and he will now be a big off the court contributor.

Damn that's rough. Hope he gets his degree and finds another happy outlet

How does this effect the scholarship situation in the future?
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

Medical retirements do not count against the 13. So opens another one up.

Correct.  Chart on the recruiting thread updated.  God bless Ike on a long and successful life after basketball.

Jockey

There was little expectation that he would ever play at MU because of his injuries..... but it is still a tough break for a super kid.

Good luck in the future, Ike.

fjm

Hoping he stays with the team and takes a role whether it be to play scout team or to be an assistant of some sort.

Yeah, I think he is friends with Dexter so maybe we can get Ike updates during the year. I hope so Great Kid.

Unfortunate news.

Buzz knows about medically incapacitated to play basketball seven footers.

AlienWarrior

So who is available to fill this years opening?

Openings. We have two now.

Very sad.   Best of luck, young man.
