I first read that as "he was lifting the Rec Center."

When he wasn't in the weight room at the Old Gym he was lifting in the Rec Center.

Mike Deane had a very amusing nickname for Faisel too.

loved what theo said about matt-exactly what i saw.  if i owned a business that needed a "go-getter" matt would be at the top of the list.

theo-the guy is definitely a hard worker.  now he's got to play politics with the refs.  they are calling fouls on him before he even get's onto the floor.  he cannot get into a stare down with opposing player cuz that looks mean ya know.  everything is so volatile today.  good thing al had control over his players and they rarely got out of control ::) refs need to just let them play. call fouls a foul and chit won't get out of hand...let them play.  when the refs calls get inconsistent, players try to adapt.  then all hell breaks loose

While I don't disagree on Theo's "referee intimidation" fouls. I don't think that will be a huge storyline this year. I just don't see how it will impact wins and losses much given the rotation, I would rather him spend zero time thinking about that and instead spend all of that time doing what works.

If he can cut down on the actual bad fouls, great, but cutting down on fouls for him will necessarily include attempting to block/impact fewer shots. If you want one, you get the other.

Avoid the bad moving screens and he'll be fine. As Hamberdler says, I want Theo doing what makes him a valuable basketball player. A certain number of fouls go with that.

Considering he only has four to play with per game, the moving screen 35' from the basket handcuffs TJ to be the valuable bball player that his team needs.  I hope those calls are essentially non existent as they were for the Milkman as he became an upperclassman.

If Isaac Haas said Theo was the strongest player he'd ever played against, the prospect of TJ getting even stronger is a scary one for opponents. What's far scarier is if he becomes a better defender and rebounder, while improving his offensive game.

Sacar had some very bullish comments about Theo in an interview on Dodd's site.

Yes.  Better than those obtained by scoopers.

This was as a freshman too.  Pretty nice compliment from Haas, especially that he did it during the game as Theo fouled out.
