Actual Recruiting Thread

TheyWereCones

The internal Scoop bickering has made this site toxic to the point where the only thing I come here to check anymore is the recruiting thread, and since that is now beyond the ability to save and is completely unbearable, I am starting this new thread on behalf of every fan who simply wants to read updates on ACTUAL recruiting news and reasonable opinions...things like the following:

- Player X visited campus this past weekend.
- Player X put us in his top 5.
- Here's a highlight video of one of our top targets.
- Player X has a really nice 3-point shot and could fill a great stretch 4 role in 2020.

Here is what should not be in this thread:

- Every other he said/she said who is more loyal who knows more history who wants Wojo fired who misinterpreted my intentions and all other incredibly unproductive and horrifically annoying *ick measuring contests that only the same 6 people seem to want to perpetuate beyond any point of reasonable rationality, holy $hit where's the Tylenol.

I expect this effort to end in blazing futility, but someone has to try.

You couldn't be more right about the toxicity of this site over the last 2 years. It's been unbearable. It's sad.

I'm hopeful for Jalen Bridges.

I am also rooting for Dijan. (I'm sure I spelled his name wrong)

TheyWereCones

It seems like Bridges & Lewis are the two with the most momentum as they both recently visited (Lewis for the second time).  Both have their stock rising and are top 100.  We have five open schollys for 2020.  These two would be a really nice start to that class.

I really like Garcia and Dainja too (I'm thinking that's who you meant).  Two bigs but with totally different styles.  Garcia seems more finesse and like a stretch 4.  Dainja seems like Gardner 2.0.  Of course this is just from what I've read and seen.  We were being talked about with both these guys previously and I think Garcia visited campus, but it seems like it's been quiet lately.  Hoping we're still in play with both of them.

Dainja is impressive in videos.  More athletic and polished than Davante.  I would really like to see him in MU blue & gold. I think we are for sure still in play here.

This is MUScoop's slogan.

So uhh... Marquette is not at the level it should be. Wojo must be in question

Come visit the NM thread.

NickelDimer

There's only one recruiting thread, and although it frequently veers off course it always finds its way back on track.

Yeah I think starting another one has little chance of making the problem better.  It always gets runs home to mama eventually.
Matthew 25:40: Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

The Thing

I agree with Cones though. It was getting unbearable. Maybe his not so subtle attempt will get that thread back on track for at least a week or two. That was probably his goal all along.

Mr. Sand-Knit

Not surprised to see that there is "actually no recruiting" in this thread, how surprising.

Stretchdeltsig

It is time for a new recruiting thread, with no petty quarrels or 500 word theses. Just facts about Marquette recruiting.  And it should be closely policed with violators shot.

Not sure if someone posted this yet or not.

Dawson Garcia was named MVP of the U18 3x3 World Cup in Mongolia.  It is the first time USA has won it. Namari Burnett was also a member of the 4 player USA team.

Nice try, Cones, but it always devolves.

If you expect people to actually stick to the topic, you apparently need more than 86 posts to get the drift.

I understand your frustration and intent, but God, man, this is Scoop.

brewcity77

We already have a recruiting thread. Shut this crap down. The real recruiting thread has nearly 18,000 posts because it's worked & always come back to the real topic. This is a waste of time.

Crean sucks

4ever doesn't get the credit he deserves. This is actually a genius post (really, no teal). It communicates to me a few things...
A) The site had gone toxic for a legit recent reason..
The season soured late, followed by a certain transfergate fiasco.
People are going to have passionate, legitimate disagreements as to the state of the program we all love.
B) We are Marquette, the recruiting thread is as well, and will get back to topic in due time.
C) There are things most of us are in agreement with...Becky sucks, ND sucks, and if Crean doesn't suck, well, even he would admit the way he left and wrongly felt the grass is greener...that whole departure just sucked.
D) Enough is enough. Keep having strong opinions and venting when necessary...just respect all our MU bros and sisters....and remember ND really, really sucks.
Zenyatta has a lot....a lot... of ground to make up. She gets there from here she'd be a super horse......what's this.....Zenyatta hooked to the grandstand side....Zenyatta flying on the outside....this....is...un-belieeeeeevable!...looked impossible at the top of the stretch...

What is better ? 7 or a very thick 6? Asking for a friend.

If this isn't the scoopiest set of posts ever, I don't know what is. A thread created, because of off topic posts in the recruiting thread diverges into actual dick measuring discussions in one page.

Bravo scoop, you have outdone yourself.

Can we now officially retire this unneeded thread.
