next order of duty, check the eight incoming recruits.  Then some transfers from ND.

Why would she get transfers from ND? She didn't coach there as a head coach nor an assistant and hasn't played there since 2006.

Big news.  That scoreboard had been horribly substandard.  Chick and I have talked about that for 2 years.  Glad it's happening.

I was starting to wonder if they were ever going to get a video board and was happy to hear about this yesterday.

She was really fun to watch at the state tournament.  I hope she still gives MU a shot because she'd have the keys to the team right away as a freshman and also a coach that almost assuredly isn't going anywhere in the next four years.  That said, I completely understand her decision to look around with Kieger moving on.

Q&A with Duffy from Ben Steele today and he specifically asks her about Shemera Williams - see last question:

Duffy announces her 3 assistants today - Vernette Skeete and Scott Merritt are two of Kieger's assistants retained joined by Justine Raterman from Duffy's staff at Miami:

https://gomarquette.com/news/2019/4/18/womens-basketball-duffy-announces-assistant-coaching-staff.aspx?path=wbball

Shemera Williams has an offer from Kentucky she tweeted about and is visiting there this weekend - no idea if she's still considering MU or not.  And I haven't seen anything about the other incoming recruits yet.

Great job keeping the assistants.  Had heard Scott was PSU-bound and was assuming Vernette was too.

Glad Merritt is sticking around so it'll be an easy transition to Wojo's office next March.

I did forget to add that Ginny Boggess and two other staff members did join Kieger at Penn State:

Another Marquette recruit who has apparently gotten a release from her LOI is Destiny Strother:

https://twitter.com/stormAAU/status/1118922332242890757

It does say she will be meeting with the new MU staff.  Shemera Williams is the other recruit who appears to have been released from her LOI.  I haven't heard about any of the other 5 recruits asking to be released - Sharna Ayres from Australia enrolled at MU in January so I'm not including her in the count for recruits.

Coach Peters 2.0

I found this line in the press release to be a little condescending.  I hope she signed off on it:
"Every day ends with a Tums festival!"

NLI.  There is no such think as a "LOI."

Sorry - my bad for using the incorrect terminology.

Confirmation on twitter from Jordan King's Father that she will be coming to Marquette to play for Coach Duffy next season:

https://twitter.com/jking0930/status/1120708321630146560

She is one of the 8 players Kieger had commitments from for the 19-20 season.  King went to the same high school as former Marquette player Courtney Weibel and was coached in HS by Weibel's Dad.

Weibel's dad is from Oconomowoc.  He played hoop, but was an All State pitcher.  Pitched in the Twins organization until he got  hurt.

He's called Randy, but in Oconomowoc he's always been known as Max.

King is a stud. Pretty much single handedly lead Hononegah to a third place finish in state last year.

She did not have much around her.

This was announced a few days ago but I just saw it tweeted about today - the first departure I know of from Kieger's original 8 recruits for 2019-20:

http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=211802480

Sharna Ayres has transferred from MU to LSU.  She had enrolled at MU in January and was sitting on the bench with the team the 2nd part of the season and was set to start playing in 2019-20.

Jordan King has reconfirmed she is coming to MU as already discussed here and Shemera Williams and Destiny Strother have said via twitter they were reopening their recruitment (their words - not mine and in Strother's case I think it was her AAU team that put that tweet out).  And I have no idea what the status is of the other 4 recruits.  Ayres is the only player to be removed from the roster on the MU site (incoming frosh aren't out there yet) so as far as I know there are no other returning players that have decided to leave.

Local player Shemera Williams who had been the highest rated recruit in Kieger's original signed class for 2019-2020 announced today that she's going to Virginia next season:

https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/college/marquette/2019/05/21/former-marquette-recruit-shemera-williams-chooses-virginia/3753523002/

https://twitter.com/_Swilliams10/status/1130940226401177601

Virginia is one of the schools she originally considered before choosing Marquette.

This article reinforces that there's still a lot of unknowns about who will be playing at Marquette next season.  Of the 8 originally signed players, two have landed at other schools and one has confirmed she's still coming to Marquette despite the coaching change.  Destiny Strother's club team posted she was reopening her recruitment but I haven't heard anything about her picking a school yet.  And it hasn't been announced if the remaining 4 recruits are still coming to Marquette or not.

More importantly the article tells us that future Wojo replacement, Scott Merritt, was retained on MUWBB's assistant coaching staff.

That was announced awhile ago.  Duffy actually had her 3 assistants in place before Kieger did at PSU.
