Maybe, but it isn't in many places. We don't get to pick and choose which laws, unless you have a friend in Crook County that can get you off.

We can, however, pick and choose how we react to people accused of breaking laws when we find those laws to be absurd. I mean, you wanna go all reefer madness in your reaction, fine by me. But, the rest of us are going to shrug and not care one iota.

And he would be declared ineligible had he been randomly drug tested by the NCAA.  That's why Buzz did the third party test - so questions of his eligibility were addressed immediately.

The NCAA does not test for marijuana anymore.

I am all for the decriminalization of marijuana and am fortunate to live where it is decriminalized. That said, this kid knew it was illegal and possessed it anyway during the most important games of the year. That's stupid judgment on his part, but as soon as I saw it coming across the ESPN Bottom Line I knew he wouldn't be suspended.

Also, if his test came out clean despite being in possession does that mean he had the intent to sell?

If I am, then I will have to deal with and pay the consequences....which will be small, nevertheless accurate.

What's next, a kid gets busted for jaywalking?!? Got damn criminals! Inmates running the asylum under Buzz!!

If this was MU and Wojo I'd hope he wouldn't suspend the kid in the biggest game of the season.

Jaywalking?  Based on some of his past player transgressions....probably something a bit higher on the criminal scale.

have i missed something or does Chico's ever specifically identify "his past player transgressions"? I know about an article in the Chicago Tribune and something about t-shirts. can  we have chapter and verse?  Who? what? When? Where? why?

Remind us of of all the crimes Buzz's players have been arrested for in his 12 years as a CBB head coach.

Ty Outlaw will play for Virginia Tech after being charged with marijuana possession

https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/ct-spt-virginia-tech-ty-outlaw-marijuana-20190328-story.html

Virginia Tech forward Ty Outlaw will play Friday night against Duke in the Sweet 16 after being cited for marijuana possession last week, the team announced Thursday.

Hokies coach Buzz Williams and Outlaw addressed the situation after the team practiced at the East regional site, Capital One Arena in Washington.

"Ty took a drug test by an outside agency yesterday before we left. And the test was negative," Williams said. "So maybe sometimes what scrolls across TV may not actually be the whole story or what is published on Twitter in an ironically efficient pace, may not be the whole story. So Ty's handled everything perfect. He's been transparent not only with me but with all the authorities involved. And I think it will play itself out."

Keep posting this crap if it makes you feel better about MU's ineptitude. Lame AF

Really?  Is google not available for you?  Chicago Tribune? Milwaukee Journal Sentinel? WISN? WKTY?

I'm not going to do the work for you, but crumbs for starters on one of the more minor ones. You can do the rest, not that difficult...they all happened within a 27 month period...incident after incident after incident after incident after incident.

Old timers may recall Bo Ellis getting caught with pot in his car at 4 AM the morning before the season opener in 1975.  Coach/AD Al McGuire allowed Bo to play in the game and also did a fair amount of coaching during Bo's press conference about it.  Obviously the pot did not belong to Bo.  Bo played a great game that night and the whole thing was forgotten after a couple of days.

The usual nonsense when you call out some moron who posts nonsense.

1. Moron: 2 +2 =5
2. Me: prove it
3. Moron: I'm not going to do the work for you,  Is google not available for you? prove 2 +2 doesn't equal 5.

jesus Christ, after all of your nonsense on Buzz' character, this is the best you can come up with??? Your own article says " I remain of the firm opinion that this is a lot of hubbub over a whole lot of silliness". Like getting into a kicking contest with a one legged man.

One could start a very convincing argument about the amount of death and violence alcohol has brought to our society versus the effects on people of THC.  If no one knew any different and  simply looked at the destructive impact of one versus the other they might wonder one is legal and tge other scorned for centuries.  Just sayin.

Can't agree with you buddy. The impact of causing one to lay on their couch, eat some cheetos and watch True Detective, is very destructive.

O Lee and Sudden Sam shared a suite in McCormick. I was on 8 and you could smell the weed from their room two floors up.

Who cares about weed?

O Lee and Sudden Sam were two of my favorites. I have a great recent O Lee story and will tell you guys next time we get together. A true gem. A little added twist to story, the Grasshopper is part of the story as well.

Funny!  O lived right below me, and the smoke would ooze out the phone shaft.  We'd have to call him to open his window.

Sam lived with Arte, as I recall.  Came in the year after.  Oliver was quite a character, however.

Love to hear Goose's story.  Sam lived with Arte, coming in the next year.
