Wow, really? Dan Dority is the little bro from something about mary? well, I learned something today. He's also in an episode of Justified, one of the top 5 dramas on tv right now.

The headliner is still Jim Varney, of Ernest and Slinky Dog from Toy Story fame.

John Powless, tennis and basketball coach

Wasn't he head coach of the Red Roadkill to the west from 1968 to 1976?

Another reason to hate the glue factory (horses)

From Wikipedia

Powless was born and raised in Flora, Illinois. He received a Basketball Scholarship to the University of Michigan with an agreement to play tennis. After one semester he left and went to Murray State University and graduated in 1956.

As a 6'5" sophomore forward in 1955, he led his team to the Kentucky Invitational title.

Powless came to Wisconsin as an assistant under John Erickson in May 1963 and also was Wisconsin's head tennis coach for five seasons, compiling a 52–39 dual meet record. On April 27, 1968, Powless became head basketball coach on the same day that Army head coach Bob Knight declined the offer.

Pretty sure powless is still winning u90 tennis tournaments.   Unless he kicked the bucket a few years ago, cant remember.   Either way, he was still winning tennis tournaments in his old age.

Dr. Richard Hurt, Emeritus Professor of the Mayo Clinic Nicotine Dependence Center, played for Murray State in the '60s. Also a super nice guy. https://tobaccotreatmentsummit.mayo.edu/speaker/richard-hurt/

He is also the grandfather of Michael Hurt (current player at U of MN) and Matthew Hurt (current #8 recruit in class of '19; most people think he's headed to Duke).
