A lot of good suggestions here. My wife and I went there last June and only thing I would change is not staying downtown. We hiked and rafted everyday and staying outside of town would have been easier. Will add, Ziggy offered sound advice.

Thanks Goose, unfortunately I'm locked to downtown because this a business trip near the convention center.  But some amazing recs for when I can return with the fam.

Improper city and that area is very trendy, about 1.5 miles from Hilton city center. Union Station itself is trendy and good but also expensive

Well, unless you've already insisted on a rental car, just take the A-Line directly from the airport to Union Station ($10.50).  From there you can Uber/Lyft or walk the ~1mile to your lodging.

After the past few years, not up on the scene in downtown Denver at all.  But I know one of my favorites (Falling Rock Taphouse) is gone.  Freshcraft, nearby is still around.  For complete (but fun) dives, with GREAT beer, stop by Star Bar.  I guarantee you won't regret it.

Falling Rock is gone???? Noooo. My favorite as well. Pliney The Elder was on tap!
Second the Star bar suggestion. I actually like the bar at Union Station.

While I'm not a fan Wynkoop brewery is there.

Oh and if you eat at LaLoma restaurant on Broadway and your waitress is named Kim, tip her well.

Get tickets to any show at Red Rocks and enjoy!

We took our boys to a Rapids game, ate chilaquiles benedict at Snooze. I love Euclid Hall, but sadly it might no longer be. There is a little outdoor park, bar, ping pong, foos area which was fun.
