Markus over the past 6 games
« on: February 21, 2019, 11:55:53 PM »
Averaging 37.8 minutes, 30.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.3 steals a game. Shooting 38-72 (52.8%) from inside the arc and 25-55 (45.5%) from 3-point range. And 31-34 from the line (91.2%).

Three times in the past six games his usage exceeded 40%, topping out at 46% against Villanova.

Quite the offensive hot streak. Those are just mind-boggling numbers. Could he be getting even better as the season goes along?

Must see tv.

The numbers say yes, the eye test says yes. One bad game in the last 6 (loss) and FOUR 30 pt games in the last 6.

Meanwhile Grant Williams of Tennessee, who is 2nd in POY race according to some, has only scored 20 once in the last 6.

Let’s hope #0 to Hero keeps it up

What is the significance of 20 points? Also what is the significance of the last 6 games?

Williams is averaging 14.8 points, 8.3 rbds, 3.2 asts, and 1.3 blks with an eFG% of 62.1% over the last six which is a very nice statline for a top 5 team in the country.

On the season he's averaging 19.1 points, 7.8 rbds, 3.3 asts, and 1.5 blks a game with and eFG% of 59.9% while playing on a top 5 team, those are NPOY type numbers.

Williams is doing things like rebounding, blocking shots, etc.  It's not just about scoring.
"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. The trouble is, it will sound like an excuse because we've never won the national championship, but winning just isn't all that important to me.” Al McGuire

No special significance. Just happened to notice that Markus has been on a tear lately.

A single 30-point game at the highest level of Division I men's basketball is noteworthy. Averaging 30 points a game over an extended period of time is nothing short of amazing.

I remember when Blue went for 30, ex-players were tweeting congrats at him. It was a big deal. For Howard, we just call that Wednesday.

I just want him to let Theo practice his free throws in peace.

I would guess Markus has taken a lot of time practicing free throws.
