Marquette professor in the news

Not that professor, but a different one.

Journal Sentinel article says Dan Myers was negotiating a resolution to the situation before he resigned.

"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. The trouble is, it will sound like an excuse because we've never won the national championship, but winning just isn't all that important to me.” Al McGuire

Don't dip quill in company ink well.
Winning is overrated. The only time it is really important is in surgery and war.

Irony abounds.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

MSJ in its article (link off the above link) noted:

..."Marquette Provost Dan Myers reportedly was negotiating a resolution with Secunda and then resigned suddenly in October, and Secunda was then suspended from teaching a short time later...."

Did Myers abrupt departure have something to do with this?

Will this test the new rules?

inter Alia..."While that case was about free speech, it also led the university's Academic Senate to work on developing policies covering professional conduct and cyber-bullying that would presumably address issues of when faculty can date students..."

Secunda has lawyer ed up and first step appears to be internal processes at MU.
Seems to be interesting/worth monitoring its progress

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Let's just say this is not the first time this happened at MU.

Of course not.  But it shouldn't happen now.
