LBJ has a history of running coaches out of town pretty quickly.

The problem in lakerland is not the coach... it's LOFT.

You cannot win with Lance on your team.
You cannot win with either of their PG's.
You cannot win with their youth.

Their goal for this year should be to survive with the Lebron/Walton/Magic relationship intact and then land some help for next year.

Agree on Lance, but a pass first PG that keeps the ball moving like Lonzo, in theory, should work with LBJ, paired with Ingram who has a ton of potential, it's an intriguing core of dudez (not sold on Kuzma)...

Bill Simmons has opined that they are setting up for a trade for Dame Lillard to play a Kyrie-like role of another dynamic scorer with LeBron, but not sure what they would have to give up.  Not sure Lonzo and Kuzma and picks will do it...maybe.  Maybe if Hart continues to play well, Hart, Kuzma, and some #1's...

A future core of Lillard, LBJ, Ingram, and I think their cap has room for another big signing, plus either Hart or Lonzo, is pretty stellar if Ingram continues to grow his game.

LAL needs about 6 shooters or it won't matter who they trade for or sign in FA.

Agreed, I just don't think the LAL are trash, and have better players than people realize.

Next two summer's FA has the possibility for the biggest in terms of potential shifting of the tide...

Tier 1
~KD
~Klay
~Kyrie
~Kwaai
~Cousins*

Tier 2
~Jimmy
~Kemba

And then in 2020 you have Draymond and AD...

Wades, do you see a shift back to the East (BOS, Philly, MKE) competing for titles say in the next few years?  Probably depends where KD and AD land, right?

Thought we had an NBA Season thread but couldn't find it, so I'm throwing this here from betting site Bovada:

Who will be the first coach to leave their post in the 2018-2019 NBA Season?

Luke Walton                              7/4
Tom Thibodeau                         2/1
Fred Hoiberg                             5/1
Billy Donovan                            15/2
Scott Brooks                             10/1
Dave Joerger                            12/1
Tyronn Lue                                12/1
Terry Stotts                               12/1

I'm thinking Lue because the Cavs are horrible and their hotheaded owner is a knee-jerk kind of guy. But I could see several of the others, too.

As I said!

1) LeBron
2) Durant
3) Steph
4) Harden
5) Giannis
6) Kawhi (if he comes back healthy)
7) Westbrook
8) Anthony Davis
9) CP3
10) Butler
11) Lillard
12) Simmons
13) Embiid
14) PG13
15) Lowry
16) Gobert
17) Mitchell
18) Wall
19) Cousins (if he comes back healthy)
20) Jokic

Honorable mention (in no order): Kyrie, Dray, Klay, Hayward, Vic, Kemba, Tatum, KAT, Drummond, Aldridge, Horford, Beal

The Sixers now have 3 of my top 13 pre-season players. Only the Warriors can match. On paper (granted, my paper), they could be a legit title threat. Need to find some more shooters before the deadline.
