Certainly one of, maybe the best, moment for me as a marq fan.

Not a UK fan but Wiscy knocked them out of chase for perfection and to go down as one of best teams ever, imo. That would be the easy pick for me but also understand there are many variables that can emotionally tie you to certain years/teams.

One of the best games ever as an MU Fan. And, I was there. The best I ever saw were:

1977 -- North Carolina
1977 -- UNC Charlotte (first half of Al's march to the sea through North Carolina)
2003 -- Kentucky
1976 -- Russians
2016 -- Villanova
1971 -- Tennessee (personal reasons)
1981 -- Notre Dame
1972 -- Wisconsin (the obscene gesture game)
1974 -- Vanderbilt (personal reasons, again)
2013 -- Davidson

Interesting factoid, Kentucky has played Marquette 10 times in the NCAA tournament and has a losing record against the Warriors.  4-6 against Marquette, including three straight losses.

Pretty good list. I would have several of those on my all time list.

I thought we were 9-5 against Kentucky in NCAA tournament. Either way we do have a winning record against Kentucky.

As an old fart, I have seen many memorable games, but the first will never be forgotten -- in 1954, MU played in the NCAA for the first time. In the Fieldhouse at Northwestern, we beat Adolph Rupp and KY.  I was there

Big fan of that team. UK was awesome and really enjoyed that run. I think it hit about 5-6 road trips, including all three NCAA games.

That is incredibly cool.  My father might have been there as well but I'm not certain. But I grew up hearing about Terry Rand and the Wittberger brothers.

Great list. Sadly, the only one I witnessed in person was Rivers' half-court shot to beat the Effen Irish.

Another would be that OT win over Mizzou in the 2003 second round in Indy. What a thrilling game ... though I was a nervous wreck. Diener - effen clutch! And Novak became a true Warrior that day.

And one of my all-time faves was our fantastic win over the Gminski-Banks Duke team at the Dane County Coliseum in 1980.

1981 win against ND was sweet. Personally 1982 was against the Fighting Hypocrites was even better. We had them by the throat the whole game and we were sitting in seats from Dick Rosenthal,  ND AD.  Sweet.

Learn something new every day.  I thought we were 7-4.  Looks like we need a statistical authority on this.  Cannot be that hard to figure out.  Anyone?

Both team wikis indicate we're 7-7 all time

Some of those games listed are not NCAA tournament games.

Looks like only 10 are actually NCAA tournament games.

Not counting consolation games, Marquette is 5-3 against Kentucky in the NCAA tournament.

According to this site, not sure if it's true or not, Marquette and Kentucky have played each other more than any other teams in the NCAA tournament.

Found a different source tonight, says 10 games.  http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/tournament/history/_/team1/6526/team2/6313

Must be counting the NCAA consolation games, which if the NCAA says they are legitimate why not.

My daughter says this can mean you find me attractive, that the college kids use that emoji to express desire.  I'm happily married and taken.

She said there are other meanings, but that is the one that struck home. It has been so many years since someone had googly eyes for me, thank you for making my Fathers' Day.

It must have been fun watching Don Kojis  when he played. I saw him at the Alumni event a few years ago and was still in great shape at age 77.

I watched and cheered for him many times and appreciated his greatness. Too bad he is now forgotten by most fans. When he played games were played in the old gym. It wasn't great even then. No parking, but even as a kid I was fascinated by the footballs on the wall. Are they still there? When I started running, inspired by Coopers book, I frequently used the balcony track.

At games, you could sit in the in the front and heckle opponents you could touch (we didn't). I remember a glare from Detroit's Dave De Buschere (s[?), that shut me up in a hurry. He starred in the NBA star for many years.
