Here's what I would do, but this is a personal choice:

Take the money. Save the amount for taxes (roughly $7k or so) in a savings account until next spring so you can pay uncle Sam. Buy a $10,000 vehicle for your fiance. You will be a hero, and you still have $3k to spend on yourself.

Also, since you are about to get married...are there wedding expenses/home purchase in your near future? Other things to think about that might mean spending less than $10k on a car. Just food for thought.

I took the car. The fiancé is pretty pumped about it. Turning down the cash was tough, but i made the better long term decision.
