no. Cannot recruit defense.

Yes.

Its that hedge defense with big going out to foul line and not getting back.  Been burned many, many times tonight.  Kanter just did it three times in last two minutes.

Oh well, Rowsey just yanked after that, wtf pass thing or something.

Yes.

Now we're getting somewhere.

Who was the brain surgeon that tried to make the argument that Heldt was better than Fisher?

Maybe tell the net guy nevermind, pack 'em up, ai'na?

You don't think this group of MU players would be better defensively with a different coach?

They obviously would. The argument that our guys simply aren't good at defense is weak. We played great defense against X a few weeks ago with the same personnel.

MUBigDance

Seen some stuff against Wojo. He's got some things to work on for sure. But we will see the sweet 16 in the next two years.

nyg

Since there is a break, does MU start mixing up lineups?  More Theo, less Heldt.  More Cain, less Sacar?
Heck, even bring Rowsey off bench?

Then back to game.

No way.

If he recruits some Top 5 guy, maybe, but he's not a good enough coach to take this talent level very far.

MUEng92

Yep, this effort is officially embarrassing to the university

fjm

Out of a break and Howard shoots 3 straight shots. Without a single pass.

Gonna lose by 30. Easy. But coooome on you guys. Just try. TRY

NickelDimer

Turning this off. Inexcusably bad D

Wouldn't throw it to Elliott when he was open to

This isn't just MU's talent level not being up to Xavier.

There's an element of "not hustling" that's is creeping into MU's play.

MU gave up 91 at home v X. Great defense?

MUEng92

A Macura missed dunk and a Macura airball are all I'm going to choose to remember about this debacle

Wojo coached well that game, that's why they did well

Ok fair, great isn't the best way to describe it. But we were in the right position more often, and it seemed like we limited the number of easy shots taken. Plus the effort seemed more intense than most other games this year.

Live and die by the 3.  Today we dead.

Lighthouse 84

Wojo needs to gameplan to get Sam some looks. 2 shots is not going to do it.

I'm not saying Wojo isn't to blame but just look at what's doing on. MU is hardly hedging at all. They are exploiting simple pick and rolls and blowing by people.

MUBigDance

This game does not define MU. If it was us, we'd be St. John's. We are not.

So Why are we so inconsistent. It's like we're the youngest team in the league... wait, we are.

It's a roller coaster this year folks

fjm

I'm a huge Wojo fan. And I have faith he will get us where we want to be albeit it may be next year or 19-20.

But today, has GOT to be the most disappointing game for Wojo's era.

I wasn't expecting a win. But I was expecting it to atleast be close. Lose by 5-10 points ish. Geesus.

Having said all that, this is easily a terrible 3 point shooting effort for us.

Lighthouse 84

You can tell Froling is able, the shots just need to start falling.

I'm pretty sure Bluitt was facing the TV announcers at half court when he released that shot

SaveOD238

I like Froling at the 4 way better than Froling at the 5.

Hoping Wojo leaves him in the rest of the game, let him gain some confidence off of some more open looks in garbage time.
