I thought Markus ran the point real well today.  Had a couple dumb turnovers late, but he distributed it well.

Completely agree about the officiating compared to the dumpster fire we're usually subjected to.

More whining about the refs.

The inferiority complex that some have where MU is always the victim of the big bad refs doesn't make any sense.

Sir Lawrence

Tower, excellent job on the thread title.

If Froling was as talented as some made him out to be, MU would be in decent shape.

Instead, the guy looks like he would struggle to get minutes at UWM.

He gives MU nothing other than another body to use up fouls.
A little more than that.   Though, 5 fouls is important when Heldt and Theo are both in foul trouble.     14 games to go.   I am calling it right now.   By the end of February, he is getting the most minutes of the 3 bigs.

Who is whining about the refs?  I was complimenting their performance tonight.

You're a real stable genius.

The boys played well in the second half.  There was actually some defense out there.  That's all I ask against the #3 team on their floor, that we look like we belong in the same league and tonight at least in the second half we looked like we did.  Hopefully the guys can use how they played tonight to beat SH
Tuesday in a game they actually have a shot at.

Troll-boy, go watch Davison flop some more.    They were expressly and clearly NOT complaining about the refs.    Trolling interferes with reading comprehension.

Markus Howard is very close to becoming must see TV for me. IMO, we were never in the game and 'Nova went through the motions, but I watched every second to see what Howard would do.

Howard is a joy to watch and scoring at historic clip. He reminds me of Chris Jackson, because his ability to score in bunches like few have done. In addition, he made route tonight ultimately look respectable.

Three weeks ago I would have said zero chance he leaves early. If he continues anywhere near this clip, he very possibly could be playing for money next year.

I think he's here all 4.

Liked the intensity of the press at the end but why couldn't we bring (that intensity) when we slapped it on earlier in the half.

Freshmen looked great - when/if Theo finds his range on that jump hook he'll be the center we need (and he had it a few games ago for one or two games!)

1-3-1 is a mess. I like the idea of trying to change it up, but not if we execute at a JV level.

Rowsey. Ugh. I'm not sure he's not going to lose us more games than he wins heading out. He was totally playing "me ball" tonight. One of his drives early in the first half and Markus was standing wide open in the corner waving at him. Instead he forced it up against 3 trees.  If those two could play off one another (and get Sam the ball a bit more) we would be dancing.

I'm gonna need to see a lot of improvement before I stop cringing every time Harry takes a 3. Sacar and Elliot were both excellent tonight though. Hopefully we can bounce back and get a win at home on Tuesday.

10.  Who was that AndyReid $ss and what is his Scoop name?  i figured out the game chat ignore function way too late in the game.

Agree on all points tower - we showed a lot of fight and flashes that show what the next couple of years will be like.  Infuriating D but enough to keep it interesting.

How did you do the ignore???

He has to guard somebody.   When isn't it a mismatch when Rowsey guards someone?   Brunson, Bridges, DiVincenso, Cartwright.    Do the math.   And that is one of, but not the only, reason for MU's defensive deficiencies.

Id prefer to have him not guard the primary ball handler ,  brunson got to the block/charge arc at will

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Pretty excited to see what Cain and Elliott can do with 10-15 more lbs of muscle next season.

I've never seen Joey play. Anyone with knowledge have an idea of realistic expectations for him next season?

So, you want Markus in foul trouble.    Or, Rowsey and Markus guarding 6'6 wings while Sacar starts on the ball.    Like when Rowsey got backed down by Jackson in the Providence game or was guarding Bridges today.      I agree that Rowsey's defense is bad.   But moving him off the ball creates other match up nightmares.

Sam but less shooting from 3 and more ability to score on the block with the back to the basket.

Thanks. So would you expect a rotation guy playing 15-20 minutes or is there upside for more?

JamilJaeJamailJrJuan

Good effort. Greg, Sacar and Markus showed up. Still think Sam needs to be more aggressive, but was rock solid as usual. We hung in there. Down 7 with 6 or so left and Sam has a wide open 3 hit front rim. Hit that and things would have gotten real interesting.

I was entertained.

I would think at least 20, but there is a lot of depth there. He's just another guy that is hard to take off the court. Even if he isn't scoring a lot, he does everything right.

Howard also had 8 assists tonight on top of his 37 points.

click on their name in the scroll on the right of the thread and it gives you options including 'ignore'.  I found it on a whim by seeing if i could PM him to extend my $1,000 bet to him.

I honestly don't get the mentality of someone who goes to another fans forum and relentlessly posts.  As someone said in the game thread, i've NEVER been that lacking of something to do......or that depraved to find pleasure in the action.

While you were whining about the "dumpster fire" from previous  games.

The refs don't cost MU games.  Their shitty defense does.

There's no reason to bring up the refs at all.  They don't target MU.
