I think the chances are darn near zero that Wojo gets fired after this next year unless there is a scandal of some sort.

Sounds like either a booster who's on a power trip or a game of telephone gone awry. If we fired him after a 20 win season that was the previous administrations scheduling fault for no postseason and a 19 win ncaa appearance then we wouldn't get a second thought on the coaching market

Yeah.... Wojos seat is ice cold...and I've heard nothing about Wojo having itchy feet. Barring major scandal or three job offer of a lifetime Wojo is going to be our coach at least the next two seasons.

What I've heard about Travis is that he misses playing,  he misses Italy,  and he wants Luka to have an international upbringing. No brainer decision for him

I can tell you with stone cold certainty Wojo is here for the long term. The current freshman class, plus Hauser, Bailey and Morrow is a great foundation for the future.
Winning is overrated. The only time it is really important is in surgery and war.

Travis has had consistent steady neck improvement, which has led to a lengthy pro career.

I have limited "scoop" info but I will share what I heard here.  This is heresay as I didn't speak directly to the person, learning only what I know from my spouse who did - the spouse asked someone in the department whether they thought it was odd Travis was leaving - aside from the response that he can still make good money playing, it was said that diener was only here for wojo and that if the team doesn't make the tourney this year wojo may be out as some people aren't impressed by his accomplishments.  Thus,Travis was covering his arse in that event.

Without going too much into the merits on this, the fact it was mentioned that at least someone with some sort of input on wojos status (whethr its boosters, or actual decisionmakers in the program) might actually consider firing him if we don't make the tourney this year seems ridiculous to me.

1 wojos plan from day one, and ostensibly the reason we hired him, was to build this thing with quality guys and build it to last.  That takes time.  And the results have been largely favorable.  Good staff retention, very high quality recruits both in the class and on the court, good share of local talent, etc, consecutive high level recruiting classes.

2 his vision has been showing results.  Improvement every year.  Could even argue we are ahead of schedule given Henry's early departure.

3 his contract was extended before even we made the tourney last year

Does anyone have anything they think might corroborate this?

My guess is this opinion was formed by contact with a very limited number of boosters, the type that believe it's final four or nothing pretty much all the time and can't get over wiscos recent successs in that regard and that it really doesn't encapsulate the opinion of anyone with the authority to fire.

I'll add to the soup and advise you not to listen to third hand bullcrap at the source of a spouse.
