Wow for what?

Honestly, it's not 100% clear to me exactly what happened. What seems clear is that there was a party and a kid got really drunk and passed out. Someone filmed some of the other kids doing something to the unconscious kid. There were some really awful rumors, but the official police/prosecutor response seems to suggest that those weren't true. But it's not really clear what exactly did happen. My understanding is that anyone who was seen in the recording was kicked out.

These Shenanigans sound like the Steubenville case a few years ago.

Yes, they do. That was our first thought as well. Quite a number of people around here have made that comparison which is not surprising given our proximity to Steubenville. The initial rumors made it sound very similar to that. The prosecutor's statement indicated a very fundamental distinction that I'm sure you can guess.

I actually changed my initial post because I was not comfortable with my use of the term "shenanigans." I think that carries a connotation light-hearted activity and I wasn't comfortable with that in this context.

Yeah I remember that was one of the first cases that publicized all the details and drama it was truly revolting to me what those kids did and their subsequent slaps on the writs. One got taken off the sex offender registry and ended up playing at Youngstown st after filing a lawsuit. The other got onto a football team where he once again got accused of sexual assault. Still bugs me that nobody else had any fallout.

My kids picked the winner.  Unfortunately, they didn't get their wagers in on time.

One of the silver linings of the pandemic is the ability to experience new things. I am getting new tires, and the store allows a “touch free” change. This means I can stay in the car from start to finish while they put me up on jacks and make the switch. Right now I’m sitting in my car a few feet in the air.

It’s like being a stuntman in a freeze frame shot. Very cool.

I fell on a cactus mtn biking in CO once.  Not to that extent though, literally just a few spines in my ass.  Why was nobody helping that guy?

If I had to guess, maybe fear of falling victim to the cactus themselves? At the very least, you have to have something pretty solid to grab it with.

Crappy day for that guy, though....

What kind of news organization would publish a story like this without pictures?

The kind that doesn't like child porn charges? Just a guess

Perhaps I should rephrase my question:

What kind of news organization would publish a story like this without pictures?

 ;)

https://cbs58.com/news/village-of-hartland-police-ask-students-to-stop-playing-nude-nerf-wars

My school never played this but nearly all of the local schools have been since 04 at least.

Basically teams of 4 people. 16 teams. head to head matchups. you shot someone with a nerf gun (not on school ground during the school day) they are out. once the other team is all dead your team wins and advance.

The nudity comes into play because one stipulation is nudity= immunity. so essentially people hide naked and then pop out of a closet. There usually is money involved.
