I don't want to freak my family out, but we're out of fruit pies.

This could get ugly.

40+ years ago I was working at a grocery store in Hales Corners, and on break, I ate two Hostess Apple Pies and a quart of chocolate milk.

I have not had either since, and a chunk of apple pie is still stuck in my stomach.

We should trade grocery store stories.

One of my favorites is the shenanigans when an employee would call in a cake to be decorated .. then never pick it up.  Days later, that bad boy would show up in the break room.

I probably made my way through 5 pounds of pistachios last year, although oddly they aren't anything I crave.   It's a good night snack because it takes so damn long to pry open each shell, not to mention you probably burn more calories opening them than eating them.

I am deathly allergic to Brazil nuts. Full on anaphylaxis with even a tiny piece.  All other nuts are not an issue. Is this weird?

Almonds are actually one of my favorite foods. I’ve said before that if I was limited to one single food for the rest of my life, almonds would be in the running. Obviously, I’m talking about a single ingredient - so something comprised of multiple ingredients (e.g., pizza) would not be eligible.

I think I’d rank my favorite nuts:
1. Almonds
2. Pecans
3. Peanuts
4. Pistachios
5. Cashews
