On a related note, I want to know why the purchasing manager at The Dump hasn't been fired yet.

Every single  week they run commercials that say, "Oh No!  We bought way too many [mattresses, sofas, dining room sets] and now were are going to have to take a huge loss by selling them for ten cents on the dollar!"

How does that place stay in business?

Ha!

I enjoyed this week's "The newest Dump location will not open on Friday! All the inventory must go! 50 to 80% before negotiation all because the newest Dump location is not ready!"

They were celebrating their failure to open in time

Hacked. Arby's on the case.

Quote
Asked if the hacking has made him more paranoid about using social media, Kelly replied, "That’s kind of like asking if getting too high has made you paranoid about using drugs. I knew it was a bad idea when I got into it."

Where you eat tonight is of no consequence to the worms that will be feasting on your bones 100 years hence.
So, yes, eat Arby's.

Generalizations of Millennials are often exaggerated.  Similar to the living in mom and dads basement trope to describe "snowflakes" was the idea that no millennial wanted to drive.  In that case, drivers licenses for 16-18 year olds went down something like 4 or 5%, but somehow a majority label was placed on these kids.   (this is admittedly growing more common yet in the igen, but still not a majority)

I know of at least 2 kids in my daughter's class (16-17 y.o. HS juniors) who still haven't gotten their driver's license yet, months after their 16th birthday.  "Back when I was a kid", I would have been shocked if I knew someone who waited more than a week after their 16th birthday to get their license.

Full disclosure, for one of the kids, his parents said he has to pay for his insurance, so he didn't see a reason to get his license until he got a summer job.

I was standing at the door of the DMV at 8am on my sixteenth birthday. It never occurred to me not to...

Back in the 70's I had to wait 7 months past my 16th because Driver's Ed was only taught in summer school if one didn't attend a public HS or pay for the Sears Easy Method. We lived in the burbs so I had to bike everywhere until I got my license.

But I did move out of my parent's house ASAP after finishing with school.

My wife didn't get her license until she was 18.  She lived in the city and walked just a few blocks to high school and to her job.  And her five person family had only two cars.

She wasn't alone either.  Not as uncommon as you think.

Yeah - I think in the city vs in the 'burbs is a big differentiator. I was in the 'burbs, and everyone I knew got a license soon after they turned 16.

I grew up in Tennessee. There was no driver's ed.

If you ever drove down Interstate 65 in Nashville, you would see the implication of no drivers ed.

I had mine as soon as I could con my Mom into taking me to the Tennessee State Police Station on Murfreesboro Road to get tested.

Had the hottest state trooper in all Tennessee for an examiner.
