Serious question about the players working the camp. Could they be considered counsilors and thus need to be paid for that? How does the NCAA handle that?

I don't recall exactly how it works, but if they qualify for the work-study program, they can be paid the same hourly work-study rate that other students earn from the program.

However, that's typically reserved for university-related jobs... not sure if the camp is considered a university program or a private camp that just happens to be held at the university.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

I'm thinking its permissable summer employment.  I bet the NCAA keeps a very close eye on the rate of compensation and whether hours were actually worked.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

That video actually reminds me of the challenge posted by a scooper a few years ago.  Believe it was -- how many 5 year olds do you think you can fight off before being overcome/taken out.

The answer to me is always contingent upon how long it takes for one of the little monsters to punch me in the groin.

Dammit, Tower... you should know damn well by now that you ALWAYS don a cup before entering a match against five year olds.

they can be paid provided they comply with NCAA rules (basically actually work and be paid consistent with the other non-players who are working).

I am telling you, this needs to be in the playbook.

And if the student section isn't holding up pictures of ice cream cones next year whenever Matty takes the court, shame on them!

I am telling you, this needs to be in the playbook.

Wojo: "Here's what we're gonna do. Matt, they'll be expecting you to take the last shot. We're gonna use you as a decoy. Markus, you get the ball, give it to Rowsey on the ice cream truck. He's gonna take the last shot."

"All right, let's go.
What's the matter with you guys?
What's the matter with you?"

Heldt: "I'll make it.

Wojo: "All right. Markus, get the ball to Matty at halfcourt. Let's go."

I just woke up from a nightmare.  In it, street agent, Tim Maymon, interrupts a Marquette practice in the fall and threatens to have Matt transfer unless Wojo starts him at 2G.  :o
