Gotta root for South Carolina.

The farther they go, the less of a "bad beat" our loss was.

Plus in the the next round, they are playing that squeaky-clean program, Baylor.

I agree with this well thought out, in-depth, fully reasoned analysis. Go you Sabal Palmettos!

Chick, you think like I do. The more they win, the less awful that loss to them looks.

Just somebody please vanquish Bucky. That ugly rodent MUST DIE!

However, this team, after surviving a near-death experience, has been very fun to watch.

Did I miss the full story of the Michigan plane incident or is the story getting more perilous as the team progresses.  Not that any accident with a plane is minor, but the initial description I heard didn't sound life threatening.  This week, every time I hear it referenced it is along the lines of "near death".  Not just you Tower, game announcers, reporters, etc.

LloydsLegs

Butler, Xavier and Gonzaga (surprised at the lack of west coast Jesuit love).

GB Warrior

Butler, Xavier and WVU. And for Wisconsin to play really well and then choke at the end against Florida.

I don't think you missed anything.  It was not "near death."  The plane never left the ground and slid off the runway.  No injuries.

I'm sure it was scary as hell, but they were no closer to death than most of us are whenever we cross a busy street.

I do remember reading it stopped 100-300 yards short of a ravine. I think the risk was stopping short of that.

Ditto.
Huggy & WVU is always entertaining.

muwarrior69

Well Notre Dame lost so I guess all that is left is Wisconsin.

PGsHeroes32

Gonzaga and Purdue(will always support BE as well).

They are my only bracket hopes left.

All year I've said this is Gonzagas year much like I did last year for Nova. So pride is involved.

Purdue was my sneaky final 4 pick and I hate Kansas.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

I have to admit that I have an affinity for teams that are not named after states.  This particular bias often costs me money when I fill out the brackets.  So, if I'm thinking with my head and hoping to win our pool at work, I'm still rooting for Arizona, Kansas and UCLA.  But if I go with my heart, I'm rooting for Gonzaga, Butler and Xavier.

I am making exceptions to my general rule in the East.  Two reasons:  1) I cannot stand Baylor; and 2) as Chick said, if South Carolina advances it takes a little of the sting out of Marquette's loss.  Perhaps more importantly, I really hate Wisconsin, Florida and Baylor.
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

I bought Gonzaga and Florida in our neighborhood Calcutta, so my pocketbook is rooting for those teams.

Xavier.  It's fun to see them playing well again, plus I like the idea of a) having a national champion from the Big East who is not Villanova and B) being able to say we beat the national champion twice this year.  Not likely to happen, but it would be fun.

After that, Butler, Purdue and Whoever Beats Bucky.

And UCLA, who tops my bracket and is just about the only pick I have left right now.  And I admire how Lonzo Ball ignores all questions about his father and just plays kick-a$$ basketball.
I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

One thing i like about lonzo ball is that he knows he's good but doesn't act like he is. I don't know how to explain it but he doesn't celebrate after every shot and isn't cocky like a lot of players

Big East, obviously.  But I have to root for Huggy... I have a newfound respect for Huggy ever since he started making out with De'Sean on the floor during the semis in 2010.

I did a complete 180 on Huggy that day... so as long as MU has been eliminated, I'm rooting for Huggy to get his NCAA title.
