Al McGuire is rolling in his grave at the thought of any Warrior ever asking a ridiculous question like this.

The ghost that will haunt you for asking this question is "arrogant and obnoxious," like his teams used to be.

WIN EVERY DAY!!!!!

Holly Ellenson is my Mom

It doesn't matter what we say about this at all.  If anyone think that Wojo would be even contemplating this, they are insane.  Wojo is crazy intense and definitely wants us to win the BET.

Which, by the way, would be a huge accomplishment for our university.

Must win first round of BET...
After that, it doesn't matter.  The BET is so late in the schedule that the teams who play in the championship are at a disadvantage in the NCAA tournament.  I'd rather have a 2-3 game run in the NCAA than win the BET.

It really affected Villanova last year... NCAA Champs!

It didn't affect UConn in 2011 or Louisville in 2013 either.

In fact, of the last ten NCAA champions, only two (UNC in 2009 and Duke in 2015) failed to make their conference championship game.  Of the 8 who made it, I believe 6 won it.

Obviously want a BEast sweep for MU and for us to land a 7 seed in Indy.

We had that mountaintop to doldrum experience after beating Nova, though. I do wonder about having a similar slump if we were to beat Nova and Butler to win the title. Don't want us to settle and lose that hunger if that would happen.

BUT you don't win a BET title by getting lucky every game. We will be playing at a high level if we make a run at the title. We won't look like a team with major deficiencies that just so happened to catch a good team on a bad night. I would hope we would learn from the mid-season slide post Nova if suddenly we find ourselves hoisting that trophy in the garden and that fire would carry over to the Big Dance.

It amazes me how some people don't put much value in the Big East tournament and would actually want us to lose if it means a different seed line.  Sorry to say this but we aren't going to win the National Championship or make the Final Four (will gladly eat my words if I'm wrong) and I would LOVE to see us make a run in the BET.  Would be a huge validation of Wojo's progress and a great season even if we don't win a game in the NCAAs.

that way we don't become an 8 or 9 seed? i kinda like the 10 seed.

Someone must be bored

Ya cuz the 10 is etched in stone???!!! and there havent been 10,000 pundits that equally speculated that we need to beat Seton hall to get in???!!!

Getting in means 50 billion times more to this program at this stage of wojos tenure than winning a game.
In the ncaa tourney.

Those pundits are wrong.  They just need material to talk about.  Don't kid yourself, MU is a stone cold lock to make the tournament.  It doesn't matter what happens tomorrow with regard to getting in.  I want a win, because I want MU to win the BET and win every game they play. But a loss is not a HUGE deal.

Or one who pretty much recanted. But 10,000 is close.

So as a lock..you are speculating they got 8 of the 10 required committee votes to get in right away. That to me would mean a "lock". If they didnt get those votes and got put in the "under consideration" group..anything can happen then.

Ugh. I wouldn't be shocked if they got 8/10, because the 2 people that had them out of the field would be idiots.

Anything can happen. An asteroid could hit earth tomorrow and another college basketball game will never be played. If the NCAA tournament happens this year, and every remaining conference tournament champion is not won by a team that is dancing either way, Marquette is in the NCAAs.

It's ok to be cautious man. But it's also ok to enjoy it. MU is in. And they're probably an 8 or 9 seed in the committees eyes today. They aren't falling out.

Or better yet, why waste the energy worrying about something that is completely out of your control?

Here is a scouting report that asserts we need one more win.

http://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/ncaa-tournament-bubble-watch-wake-forest-is-in-but-cant-afford-a-loss-to-bc/

Incorrect.  It says we are one win away from getting off the bubble list.  Not 1 more win to get in the tournament.  Huuuuuuuge difference.

There is an obvious angle we're missing here.  Yes, barring oddities we are in.  Yes, every game from here on out gives our underclassmen more experience.  Yes, every win increases our national recognition.........Whatever!

Every game we win means another game broadcast with real good announcers.  Listening to Raft and Gus I realize how quickly my bar was set at "well, they aren't obviously drunker than me and i can turn the volume down".  Refreshing game to listen to.

Here's our game plan for the next 8 games...cut their heads off and pee down their throats.

I'd rather not stop at 8 and get that 9th.
