I agree with others, you should have gone.  Nothing weird about it or that should hold you back.  Live life fully, and don't be so self conscience. You'll miss out on a lot in life otherwise.  If you travel for business are you going to sit in a hotel room at night and watch TV or explore new cities?  Go to a movie or sit at home when others are busy. 

Just remember, people are mostly thinking about themselves... not about you.
