What do you listen to at work?
« on: January 26, 2017, 09:32:19 AM »
Looking for good podcasts/archived talk radio to listen to while at work.  I'd prefer sports talk, if there's anything specific to college basketball then even better.  But open to anything.

Thanks in advance.

Mentioned it before, but the Pardon My Take guys have really grown on me.  They do shows Mon, Wed, Fri, but you will need headphones.

Clay Travis' Outkick the Coverage podcast/Sports Radio is a good listen. Certainly don't agree with him at times but I enjoy the intelligent #hottaeks he has as opposed to the pedantic Skip Bayless/Colin Cowheard shticks.

If you like soccer at all, I'd strongly recommend Men in Blazers

I'd also say StarTalk by Neil DeGrasse Tyson...not sports but I find it very interesting listening during a run.

"Uhh Yeah Dude" is a comedy podcast I've been listening to for years. You will need headphones. Hosts are John Larroquette's son and his vegan, failed actor friend. They've been doing the show once a week for 10+ years, so there are plenty of 'sodes to grind through. News, notes, games, ball bustin, etc. I will say the 10th episode you listen to will be much better than the 1st - you need to learn their personalities.

I listen to youtube playlists of "epic music." Type of music you hear in video games, adventure movies, etc. Not distracting, keeps me focused, and makes writing expense reports about as bad ass as possible.

They have really built a juggernaut in a schtick that has not remotely grown old in almost a year. Great interviews pretty much every week.

Dan Patrick Show in the morning.

In the afternoon, I usually put on random YouTube videos or Pandora in the background just to have some noise.  Not watching them, just background noise.

Actually enjoyed that.  I don't do lyrics when I'm working...too distracting.

Here's one I like to listen to at work.

And, here's a one-song sample of the same guy.

Have you listened to Football Weekly? Puts men in blazers to shame.

Beyond the standards of This American Life and Radiolab, Bullseye is a fun pop culture podcast, and Comedy Bang Bang is pretty enjoyable for me as well.

Stellar college hoops podcasts are tough to come by. 2.1 Seconds to Madness is my preference, but it's maybe a bit too Duke-centric.

Beyond that, I'm fortunate to work with people without delicate sensibilities so I can listen to whatever profane rap I choose. It's a real treat.

I really enjoy Lebatard's show with Stugotz. Sports based but not serious.  Always end up laughing quite a bit.
