MU Beats Up on Providence, Again!
« on: January 05, 2008, 05:45:29 PM »
Back from the AL.

The ladies beat up on the PC women, winning 72 to 43.

Check my math, but that looks like the same margin as Thursday's victory at the BC(29 pts)

Also, game started with a PC run, then the ladies went on a 20 something to nothing run to lock up the game in the first half.

And in a change of pace, Ellis was not the high scorer.  Freshman Robinson was high scorer for MU.

The game was featured as the Big East Ladies Game of the day and was shown on ESPN Full Court.

Team as a whole played great except for the opening minutes.  It was nice to see them able to win without Krystal taking over the game as well. Something we'll need from the women's team, who is young and very talented. Just need to mature a little and they'll have a pretty strong season. Not going to be near the top of the conference but they should have a decent year being a rebuilding year after losing 4 starters.  Rutgers on Tuesday, same time as the mens game, will be a test to see how well they will be this year.

If they can hold on and not get blown out by the #6 women's team, I see them as being able to come out of conference play around 7th in the league.
