Seriously. Time may run out on Creighton.

But we sure as heck didn't put it away.

The first person who says the inability to CLOSE is on Wojo needs to be punched HARD in the face or cajones......the players need to step-up and break thru

Cheatham might be the most unclutch player in MU history

I cant believe they almost gave it away in the last couple minutes. Sheeeesh. A win is a win...i guess?

brewcity77

Never a doubt. This one was decided the moment Watson went down.

I don't believe that -- we played a team that was pretty equal to us and won on the road.  Good game

Said a different way we have similar kenpom ratings to Pitt and mich and couldn't pull it out.

Credit to the boys and Wojo!

If I were a Creighton fan, I'd be ticked they wasted 30 seconds around the minute mark.

Great win! Not how we want to close it out, but it counts just the same. Plus, we got over the hump I think. This should help down the road.

Not enough optimism on this board!!

Young team just beat a top 10 team ON THE ROAD. Wtf Scoop?

At no point during this game have I felt concerned that Creighton would win. Patton getting his fourth only increases that confidence. I think we get this. Anyone know the last time we beat a top-10 team on the road? [/kissofdeath]

Edit: Answered before I read the rest of the thread.  Your question was answered before I answered it.

Velazquez tweeted out that Wojo compiled and watched all the film of Creighton without Watson this year. When I saw that, I knew we had this. Not sure why, but I never had a doubt.

Watching Creighton today, their biggest problem was that they tried to be the same team without Watson they were with him. Early on it worked, they got those transition baskets after our makes, and Mintz was doing great going up and down the court, but they were never going to be the same team. Players weren't getting the ball where they were used to, the offense just couldn't adapt. And in the second, once we got them down, there was no one to lead them back.

I saw all the panic on Twitter when Creighton started to get some baskets late, but personally, I never had a doubt. That said, I had severe doubts when we were up 5 on Wisconsin at the half and up 16 on Butler at the half. This one just felt different.

LOL All good...but thanks for the answer. How quickly I forget. Just a massive win today. Had Watson been there, I have no doubt we lose by double-digits. Changed their game just enough.

Tums Festival

Wondering if or when MU has ever scored 100+ on the road against a ranked (let alone top ten) opponent.

Not ranked, but March 9, 2016 at St. John's ...101 points at MSG.  That was the only road win in at least 16 years where MU scored 100.

In the Final Four year (2003), MU scored 101 against Miizzu and won at a neutral NCAA site (# 25).

More history with this team.  This time it is positive.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Just watched the game on dvr. Would thought by the comments here that we got our butts kicked. Instead we led a top ten by double digits most of the game and won at their place. Our fans really need a tourney appearance slump buster.
