Biggest win of the year tonight.  Well done boys.

Now let's focus on the biggest game of the year coming up here on Thursday.  Let's get to 3-0.

Give em hell, Wojo.  Go Warriors.

We need to have some tough defense against michigan

MU is 2-0 for first time since 2013-14.

Even rarer, an MU win against Michigan OR Pitt later this week will give MU two wins over "Power 6" teams in its first four games. That hasn't happened since 2001-02 (MU beat Indiana and Tennessee in Great Alaska Shootout to go to 4-0).

You can just view the Kenpom home page: http://kenpom.com/

He has Michigan ranked just three spots behind MU at 35, so it's basically a pickem game at a neutral site.

They have 7 guys on their roster at 6'8" or taller, so we will likely continue to struggle on the boards.  They are not a great perimeter shooting team, so if we can focus on keeping them at 15' we can control the game.

I haven't seen a single second of their coverage, so this is all based on stats FWIW.  They beat Howard by 18 in their opener, so hopefully that is an indicator.

Yeah. I'd ignorewhat you think you're reading.

They are a great perimeter team and don't have much impact size. Very similar to us.

Walton, Irvin, Robinson and the guy with long Muslim name all can shoot the rock and play outside.

They beat Howard by 18, we beat Howard by 32.  Therefore we win by 14 and the board starts getting concerned that we've not really been in a close game and if we'll be able to handle it if it ever happens.

Anytime you play a John Beilein team you can be assured of two things.

A lot of movement by both player and ball.  A lot of outside shooting.

Two teams very similar, so this is a very important game for 2 bubble teams for the NCAA, this game is a resume builder.  I like our chances because Carter might be
able to handle Walton.  I wonder what the spread will be?  MU getting 2?

GGGG

I actually think this is going to be a very difficult game given what I have seen from our perimeter defense thus far.  They have to clean up the rotations and the close outs because Michigan can absolutely roll you like MU did to Vandy if they are hot.

I agree, but if MU is hot, they can roll Michigan as well.  You can look at from both sides.  MU offensively in the first half did not know how to break the zone, once they
did lights out.  Michigan had the same problem against Howard, play a 3-1-1 basically.  Unusual.  This game will be a true test for both.

Glad we're getting the opportunity early on to play a good team with that many big guys. This is the matchup that MU is not especially built for. So, if we can figure out a winning strategy against a team like that (i.e. big and athletic) we're going to be pretty dang good.

robmufan

Does Beilien still employ a 1-3-1 as much as he use to at WV and his first couple years at UM? If so, the wings should be open...

GGGG

He's moved to more of a man to man in recent years, but still uses the 1-3-1.

As I said. They don't really have many. Donnal is the only one with real experience. The other two are big and may hurt us on the boards.

But their guards are the scorers and the guys that we need to limit.

Kenpom predicting a 1 point Marquette win. So yeah my guess is a pickem or MU getting 1, do not think we'll be favored.

Look at the stats from last year. That will tell you more than starts from two games against cupcakes.

Been on the fence about paying. Is it worth it?

Absolutely. For the price you pay, it's a steal. Best money you can spend if you're a college basketball fan.
