Interview: Cam Marotta is Marquette
« on: October 25, 2016, 08:46:18 PM »
We interviewed Cam Marotta today. Check it out below!

https://marquettenation.com/2016/10/25/interview-cam-marotta-is-marquette/

Some interesting quotes...

- In response to the Preseason Coaches' Poll, in which MU was picked to finish 7th: "We have more lofty goals than that. We gotta get back in the tournament. We gotta live up to the Marquette tradition."

- "All of the newcomers bring something different to our team. I'm excited for all of them to step on the court, especially Andrew Rowsey..."

- On who's the best shooter: "I'd say Rowsey. But we have so many other great shooters. Markus is unbelievable. I don't think I've seen him miss in five practices [laughs]. Sam is impressive--very mature for his age. Katin is very good, too."

- "Our goal is ten turnovers per game. That would put us as one of the top teams in the country." Only 33 teams averaged under eleven TO's per game last year. Pretty high bar.

- "Some say we're undersized, with only Luke and Matt. Some might see it as a problem, but we don't. This is the era of the undersized team. Many teams have had success with smaller players under the hoop. All it means is that we need to rebound and box out as a team.”

- He mentioned Sandy, Katin, and Sam as guys who could rebound and defend taller players at the "4." Important to note Wojo prefers not to use specific positions.

- Marotta says he talked to Hank last night. "He's doing well. How could he not be? He's a Detroit Piston."

Hope you guys enjoyed this as much as I did. He's a great guy, truly humble.
