Tired of hearing all the whiners here and everyone bringing up the Badgers after every win of theirs. Go buy some WI gear at Kohl's like everyone else in the state if it's making you this miserable.

It's basketball. Thank Bazz for the lack of any type of talent the prior 2 years and thank Wojo for going and bringing in a ton of talent quickly. Then go buy some red and don't flip back while the talent grows up.

Just like people were frustrated with the "soft" play, the fan base has gotten far softer than the team.

Oh good, the youth excuse again...for the 1,000 time, there are teams as young as or younger than MU that are either in the NCAA's(See Hall, Seton, Dickinson Fairleigh)) or the NIT(Ohio State). MU's out of excuses IMO.

I want this quote to serve as a reminder to the vast majority of scoop posters in regards to the MU BB program.

Perfect. Go buy some red and check out UW's scout board.

Not sure why I even address it because it's pointless arguing with someone so clueless but if MU was in Farleight Dickinson's conference they'd be undefeated in conference and dancing too. And Seton Hall's not even remotely close to as young as MU. Good try though.

Seton Hall is not nearly as young. Fairleigh Dickinson? Seriously?.

Congrats to OSU for being a tiny bit better than Marquette with back to back top 10 recruiting classes.

MU with 46% of its minutes played by frosh... Seton Hall at about 11%. In addition, a number of their players are old as dirt in actual age. To suggest they are as young or younger than us is silly.

Farirleigh Dickinson was flippin 18-14 and is horrible. Nonetheless, understand they had *** 4 players *** average more than 30 minutes per game who were sophomores. Only one freshman played regular minutes (less than 58% of possible minutes, though). To suggest they are as young or younger than us is silly.

tOSU was at about 36% freshmen minutes. Their season was a disappointment and on paper, their 'talent' is better than ours. Maybe their home loss to UT-Arlington or another home puke to Louisiana Tech is impressive to you.. but c'mon.

In all fairness Duane, JJJ, and Fischer (replacing Burton) was top 10 and last year's class was top 10 as well. I know it's not back to back but we do have two former top 10 classes on our roster.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

This post is just as stupid. I want better for Marquette so I should cheer for Wisconsin? Don't be an idiot.

Actually, we didn't have a top 10 class in 2015. At some point we said we did and kind of went with it. We actually finished #14 in 247. And as you pointed out 2013 was a while ago. We only have two players left from that class.

If you're one of the many here who after ever MU loss and UW win is whining about that, then yes. Go be a UW fan if you can't take a rebuild process following a coaching change. That is correct.

top 10 via espn in 2015 and Fischer for Burton likely wouldn't have made the 2013 class any differently rated.

Again, stupid line of thinking. So someone likes Marquette winning and dislikes Wisconsin winning should cheer for Wisconsin? That makes absolutely zero sense. You logic is completely, 100% flawed.

Not to mention Matta has been their head coach for 12 years and a D1 head coach for 16 (?) years.  I've not looked at the continuity of his bench coaches but i'm willing to bet there's a tenure at one institution advantage there too.  Bottom line - they are young but they don't have a new staff that is trying to implement a new system/culture.

thank you -

this is so needed - go cheer for someone else if you're so pissed off and your fandom can be so easily swayed

This may come as a shock to you, but not everyone on here lives in Wisconsin, and many people, myself included, that attended MU are not from Wisconsin (or even IL).
Fear makes you dumb.

You wouldn't ask a Duke fan to cheer for North Carolina.

Don't ask a Marquette fan to cheer for UW.

So we can't be disappointed that despite having one of our highest rated recruits of all-time that we didn't make a post-season tournament.

Instead we all must be pollyanna about things or cheer for the school some hate the most.  Cool post guy!

If all you can do is come to MUScoop and complain about our coach saying the team is tired, complain that the coach should be on the hot seat, complain that we extended our coach, complain that Wisconsin is in the Tourney, etc., then yes.  If MU's program bothers you that much, rid your life of it and go cheer for that school to the West that you so badly want to be.  Nobody is forcing anyone to root for Marquette.  If all you can do is complain about it, I'd suggest ridding your life of the negativity that is MU basketball.

So because we didn't meet your demands for the season you have to come onto MUScoop and obsess over the "school some hate the most?"  Scoop has turned into the definition of why UW fans act like they're the big brother.  Because, well, MU fans have acted like the little brother.

Who is obsessing about the Badgers?  You are the one who told us all to cheer for them if we didn't like the current state of MU basketball.

It's happened all year. "Oh my god. Marquette lost to Seton Hall and Wisconsin just beat their 4th straight horrible B1G opponent. It's going to suck when we miss the Tourney and they're dancing." It was said here just about every week since January.

Seems like maybe it's you who are obsessed with how others want to compare programs.

I'll continue to cheer for MU, against WI and be disappointed that we haven't made the tournament for 3 straight seasons.  One can question whether we are moving in the right direction without being irrational.

C'mon Wades. The "exhausted" excuse is ridiculous.

I am very bullish on the future of Marquette basketball but it would be great if Wojo could be straight with us.

Saying a bunch of kids are exhausted and ascribing mediocrity to that is absurd. I like Wojo but he needs to stop insulting us.

Would you prefer him say, "Vegas 16 is sh*t and we won't play in it?" Wait, I actually would prefer that. But you and I both know he can't say that.

MU TommyDieHard

Is Kohls the only place you can get Badger gear?  I've seen that line out of this guy before.  Where do you buy MU gear?  Like the Gap or some high-priced place?  I'm assuming that is some elitist shot at Badger fans being trailer trash or something, right?
