JJJ- He is a multi dimensional player that makes everyone else play better when he is going good.  His steals really demoralize the other team. He had it going all night long. First time I ever saw him play with such confidence.

Henry - Had another great game as well.

Duane- stepped it up when we need it.

Lordy... Cmon.... Henry with 27 and 14.

I agree, team has a good chance to win without JJJ, they might not grab a rebound without Henry. They absolutely lose without Hank. The 3 after they lost the lead was a huge. Great game.

JJJ

Henry's TOs were grade school stuff

And when SJU made their run he jacked up shots on like 3 or 4 occasion for bad misses.

JJJ starts runs. Closes the game. Slows the ball down at the right time. Boom.

Had to make a SSOTG (Shotgun stud of the game) with the quick turnaround.  Had to be Hank.  I generally agree with JJJ too, but HE's 3 right after SJU took the lead clinched it for him.

JJJ. The only reason I'm not for Henry is because his turnovers were god awful (thinking of two in particular), JJJ's were less unbelievably frustrating.

JJJ very deserving but Henry is the #1, 2, and 3 focus of other team's game plan. It really opens things up for guys like JJJ to have big games. Loved his steals and passing tonight though.

Should have been JJJ.

Henry was the SOTO (Stud of the offense).  JJJ was the SOTG.

Henry didn't play a possession of defense tonight.  Jones had a career night, because Henry can't match up with anyone on D.

JJJ, 5 steals, very very smart play and put up 23 pts.

I agree JJJ had a good game.

But Henry had a great game.  Unless everyone only thinks he gets easy points and easy rebounds now.  In fact, his points were some of the toughest of the night.

Rocky, FWIW (probly not much), I agree with you.

Frankly, I thought Hank was our worst player on the court for about a 10-minute stretch of the first half -- 3 horrible turnovers and looked a little lost. But he came through huge in the second half, and his 3 was THE play of the night. Huge stones to hit that one.

JJJ very close second. He's become a heck of a player.

Also very impressed with work by Haanif and Duane.

Fun (but nerve-wracking) game to watch.

Quickest decision of the year!
That surprised me. I do not necessarily think they picked the wrong person, but I did think there were arguments for Wilson, Haanif, JJJ and Carter. Also, Ellenson turned the ball over in the last couple of minutes and missed a drive to the basket that he should of made.

I have to go with Henry, but JJJ was awesome to watch. He showed off his full offensive arsenal tonight. At times St. John's simply looked dumbfounded. Great anticipation on a number of his steals, as well (although StJ was exceptionally careless with passes).

Henry.    I would have gone with JJ, but when SJU completed their comeback and took the lead, Henry is the one who hit the 3 to put MU back in front for good.    So, by the narrowest of margins, I agree with the decision.

JJJ.  He was dominant.  He shows flashes of both George Thompson and Dwayne Wade.  Love is game both offensively and defensively.  He can shoot from out and slash at will to score.  He is so quick with long arms that he breaks up opponent plays by deflecting or stealing balls.  He is multi talented difference maker.

Henry had at least five turn overs.  He plAyed like a freshman, especially in the first half.  He hurried shots at times and threw the ball away and plAyed poor defense.  He can make or break a team.  Thank God he will be a sophomore next year.

Agree he had a down first half - but what game were you watching?

Henry had a great game and deserves SoTG, but wasn't he essentially the reason we gave up the go ahead 3 right before his 3?  IIRC St. John's had a 5 on 4 because Henry was on the floor after a non call and didn't get back.

He also had a bad stretch with some poor shot selection and decision-making during SJU's comeback.  I agree his defense was pretty much non-existent, except at winning time he altered a couple of key shots and grabbed some key rebounds.  He made many huge plays, including the biggest play of the game.  I'd still give him SOTG in a very tight one over JjJ.

Everyone made mistakes - but seriously he was SOTG.  Some of these comments make it seem like he was a drag on the team.

Thank God he will be a sophomore next year.

I thought the proper term was "rookie"?

HE the proper call here despite a monster game from triple J

For those giving props to Duane, once again his defense was so bad it negates everything he did on offense.  It is befuddling that a guy with his quickness can't keep anyone in front of him-- blow by after blow by.

HE - Played 37 minutes in a game with 53 fouls AND DID NOT FOUL!

How is that possible?
It's impossible to foul when you refuse to play defense. He was an embarrassment defensively.
