Looking at getting this for the house, but always enjoy advice from educated scoopers.

Been looking myself. Interested in the Netgear Orbi.

My first time hearing about this. Seems to be a new type of wifi extenders that are way easier?

I have Google WiFi.  Got the three pack covers 4000sqft and majority of the yard.  More can be added if needed.  Just download the app and setup takes about five minutes.  No more dealing with different band frequencies or dropping on and off different routers.  Actually surprised to get better throughput than my old higher end router.  Only two downsides are the price and the privacy aspect.  You can opt out of some but Google collects data on WiFi signal, channel, and devices on your network.  Also has some nice parental controls like shutting off certain devices or turning off the entire network at a certain hour; if you need anything like that.  Overall, just wish I would have bought it sooner.

It depends on your application.

If you have a 4000 sq foot home and want a simple solution for $270 .. this is a good choice.

If you have a <2500 sq foot home, buying a solid $100 router and locating it in a good spot in your house should be completely fine.

I have three n routers in bridge mode connected to my home Ethernet.  Effectively, it's the same as a mesh, but if you don't already have Cat5e or Cat6 running through your walls, Google Wi-Fi is going to be your next best solution for a mesh.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
