6 boards and 5 blocks don't happen for people who are soft, asleep, and need to wake up. Henry and Traci were going off. We didn't need Luke to be a scorer in this one.

He also managed to stay on the floor for once. Only 1 foul. Which makes a big difference for us.

I'll echo this.  I really like the games that Luke (and Duane) played.  You had HE and Carter playing awesome.  Both guys deferred, didn't complain and did their best to contribute elsewhere.

In regards to Duane, I remember a play where it was swung to him, wide open for 3, he gave an extra pass to an open Carter.  Old Duane would have taken it, but he recognized Carter going off and got him the ball.

Very subtle things, but mature decisions that have a big impact that goes unnoticed.

has he ever forced it, pouted, or quit playing?  i've never seen that from him.

No!  And it was exemplary how hard he played with the offensive part of the game going away from him

The OP should keep in mind that Dikembe Mutombo made the HOF having never scored an NBA basket. (yes, I'm joking)

Ya'll are ridiculous. Had HE not had a career day and we lost this game everyone would be pointing to Luke's 0 points as a large concern. Instead, HE and traci play out of their mind and everyone here sweeps the teams issues under the rug.

I'm just as happy about the win as everyone else. But 0 points, 6 rebs, and 5 blocks our of one of our few upperclassmen won't cut it against the better big east teams.

I'm also willing to bet all of you will be singing a different tune when HE and Traci comeback to earth, can't expect that type of production every game.

You skipped the day in econ class where they taught opportunity costs didn't you?

Nahh, you'd be thinking of Dennis Rodman.

Look, Luke isn't really strong and physical.  Butler was double teaming him whenever he got the ball.  He forced a couple, but usually passed it out.  But he defended well and did seal the lane a number of times.

Obviously he needs to be scoring, but he definitely had a positive impact without scoring.

I have been as critical as anyone but give it a rest. This TEAM played a great game. Ellenson is showing real progress, the team is playing good D.  Traci shot lights out.

Time for some encouragement.

BTW, Luke only took 3 shots.  He pretty much let it come to him.

Herman Cain

Luke did very well. The offense did not run through him today. 5 blocks is big.

And one of the things that Wojo has preached is not allowing one's offense to affect the defensive end.
