I'm not sure why people are looking at this as positive publicity for the team/a compliment from Myron, unless you're of the belief that "any PR is good PR."  Sure, he says we can compete with anybody in our conference...but the article is listing 10 teams that you should not trust.  That is not a good list to be on.
I think within that theme is the recognition that we're having some success. Massive concession by Myron. Massive.

I get what he is saying.  Can't trust us to win games we "should" win (Seton Hall); can't trust us to lose games we "should" lose (Providence).  While they are both totally true, I see the latter as a subtle way of saying that we just might be better than our record indicates.

Given where we were a few days ago, that isn't such a bad place to be.

Last year we could not win in the Big East, without Carlino going off from three. This year we have more weapons, but so far we have not have a player like Carlino that could take over the game from the three point line.

Henry thinks he can.

I do believe Henry will have a 30 point game this year. I would love it to be against Villanova.

I agree I think we're going to steal another one on the road against a quality opponent due in large part to HE going bananas.

It is clear to me that MU is better than last year.   By a lot.   However, it is also clear to me that the rest of the conference has stepped up, too.   MU gets rolled at home by SH, beats the Friars on the road.   Proof of both.   IMO, MU needs to improve more the rest of the year relative to the rest of the league.   By getting better on defense, better rebounding by the guards, more efficient on offense.   It can't by one or two guys, it has to be all 10.   If MU is to actually get to the big dance.    Because the other 9 teams (ok, 8.  Who knows with DePaul) are working as hard.

I will say this, Marquette in conference has played 4 good to great halves and 2 pretty spectacularly bad halves(2nd half SH and 1st half of Gtown). If they play both bad against say SH and play 2 good against GTown we're 2-1 and people are feeling pretty good. I think that speaks to your growth discussion. They are much better, they have more talent, but can they play consistently to win in an also improved league?
"A Plan? Oh man, I hate plans. That means were gonna have to do stuff. Can't we just have a strategy......or a mission statement."

Good thing Providence didn't make two more FTs because you could say that we played 4 good to great halves and 2 abysmal ones and yet we are 0-3.  That wouldn't bode well for us.  I think our ceiling is much higher that last year but our floor may be lower.  When we play bad (Iowa, Seton Hall) we are worse than we were last year and when we play well we are much better.  The fact that we are so young leads me to believe that we will continue to improve and play well more and more often as the season progresses.  But I'm not sure.

It will be interesting to see how this team does in conference now given our trajectory to date. Played pretty well, ran into good Iowa team, got stomped. Played pretty well again after that, ran into Big East, got stomped. Played pretty well @ Providence and remain in conference play (competition doesn't get much better than Providence in conference so hopefully that bodes well).
