"living facilities"?  you did see the house that buzz lived in, didn't you?  it was a small palace, but a palace it was.  nothing to be ashamed of there

It was too big to be livable, Buzz needed something new, wanted his house turned into a Marquette run "Team Williams" resort.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Eldon

Very true. Cords et al built an on-campus panic room for Wojo immediately after showing Brent the door.

Pretty certain reference is to facilities for players.   Buzz (and Wojo)  are not directly dependent on MU for housing,  mainly just loads of US dollars for doing their jobs.

ohhhhh-gotcha.  thanks!  so the player's living facilities are not up to par?  honest question-just wondering.  just don't take a cue from USC and reggie bush

Yeah, they had moved the freshmen and sophomores into Carpenter. Was pretty widely discussed. That aspect has since been sorted, but we still pale in comparison to schools like Kansas, Kentucky, even Wisconsin in terms of athlete living facilities. Marquette should really get on that. It's not just a huge recruiting tool, but would be big in helping retain Wojo if his star begins to ascend.

They're back in Humphry. My guess is they will have very nice suites in the brand new dorm that will be going up soonish.

This makes me really dislike the former administration

Why?

If anything, I find the whole thing kind of funny and hyprocritical.  On one hand Buzz kept telling anyone that would listen about getting hungry kids, those that had to go to McDonald's to eat, that rode the bus to games, etc.  Yet, he was upset because God forbid student athletes had to live amongst the students like schools...Stanford, Notre Dame, UCLA, etc, etc?   Does Stanford, UCLA, Notre Dame athletic departments suck?

So what was Buzz trying to do here?  Have it both ways?   Hell, we just had our coach embarrass our guys (as they should have been) and taking away all their goodies, wearing t-shirts.  Sometimes not having nice things can be a great motivator and make you hungry.

I get the war on recruiting and having all the nice stuff.  There is some truth to it, but there is also a fair share of excuses around it, too.  Plenty of programs with old facilities, forcing kids to act like kids and not semi-pro athletes are doing just fine.
