This is the most ignorant comment I have ever read in here. I'm sorry.

I fought hard to ignore this thread until someone repeated this nonsense. What "lack of ability?" LOL be quiet until come with FACTS.

Doc Rivers IS NOT OVERRATTED as a coach. What in the world is this!? How many HOF players did Red Auerbach and Phil Jackson have!? What the heck does that mean?

He might actually end up being more known as HOF coach before he is done then he was a player and he was a great player.

The NBA is a 'players league' and Doc Rivers he is a 'players coach!' That is what coaching is in the NBA man or that is what a LARGE PART of it is!

Tell me, how much "coaching" do you think that Billy Donovan is really doing in OKC? He sure as heck is not coaching them like he did his kids on the Florida Gators I bet you that much!

Coaching in the NBA is more about understanding, communicating and mangaing egos and minutes and men and personalities and stars and the officials and at times...and not x's and o's. It is keeping things simple working with your assistans and knowing the league and tendencies and trends.

That Boston team did not need to be ruled with x's and o's all the time with Rondo and Pierce. But that does not mean Rivers didn't coach. You all need to understand what "coaching" means. Especially in the NBA before you make statements like this. Or qualify your statement with some substance.

It's just like some fans do not understand what managing in baseball is...

Stick to college Bball because you are clueless it seems to the NBA! Doc Rivers is one of top 5 coaches in the NBA! Ask any player to name the top 3 and he might be one of the names they mention. How in the world is he "Overratted?" Overatted how!?

HOW? Tell me how and I will drop it? You are clueless. Doc was a great leader as a PG at MU and a coach on the floor in the NBA. When you know the game you know the game. And lest your forget he was a great coach when he was with the Orlando Magic! Do your homework.

Stick to MU. You make a blanket statment and don't elaborate on how he is overratted so I have to post this and educate you? Wasn't the Clippers in the WC Finals last year? That team should not ahve been anywhere near the Finals with all the mess created by Donald Sterling. But Rivers got them there didn't he? Overratted....my foot.

What does having 3 Hall of Famers mean? Rivers solidfied their HOF status by coaching them to winning on his team being a great salesman! A coach is a salesman too you know. I hear how he talks about the players and treats them like men and I can imagine they respect that and play hard for him.

I bet you think Brad Stevens is a better coach and the Celtics only won because Thibidueau was on his staff don't you? Get outta here...lol No no no.

I don't think that I am going to be able to explain what Fin wrote, so I'll let someone more on your level explain it.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Doc seems like a good guy and great representative of the university, but he has to be one of the most overrated coaches of all time. Did nothing until he had 3 HOF's and an all-star PG in Boston. He has 3 all-stars in LAC and they just look undisciplined. Maybe it is Doc the GM sabotaged his team since I don't think anyone can win with a bench of JSmooth, Crawford and Austin.

I don't think he is overrated because an NBA's coaches job is to manage egos and minutes first and foremost.  I mean there was a reason that he won at Boston when Thibs was there.  Thibs is a fantastic basketball tactician, but  struggled as a head coach because he didn't deal well with his players.

There are only five current head coaches with titles.  (Rivers, Spoelstra, Kerr, Carlisle and Pop)  Four of them had multiple players who will be sure fire HoFers on their teams.  Kerr probably will too when all is said and done.

Here is the problem with Doc.  He's a very good manager of people (think of the Phil Jackson mode), a decent tactician, but his problem in LA is he's an AWFUL GM/President of Basketball Ops.  His personnel decisions have been poor and lead to some of the bad chemistry problems and thin bench the Clips are working with.

Nope.  What'd he have to say?

Heard Doc's visit to Milwaukee was going to be "featured" on NBA on TNT tonight.  Anybody catch it?

The announcer opened the interview by saying you spent a year in Milwaukee and JJ put up his hands and interrupted him, said hold on, and proceeded to say he only spent he spent two months in Milwaukee. Acted as if it he could not wait to get out.

JJ was traded to the Bucks at their lowest point with Jennings and Ellis on the team, so part of me doesn't blame him. At the same time, I can never totally let it go how big of dbag he was once he got here.
