Clemson building a "player's village" for its football team
« on: December 22, 2015, 01:30:21 PM »
This is amazing:

"The people in charge of Clemson University’s athletic department have not settled on a design for the miniature golf course they are building for their football team, but they know it will have just nine holes, not 18.

That will leave room for the sand volleyball courts, laser tag, movie theater, bowling lanes, barber shop and other amenities planned in the $55 million complex that South Carolina’s second-largest public university is building exclusively for its football players."

Which means the next school will build the same thing...only with 18 holes.

This would potentially be against NCAA rules. For example, there cannot be an athletics only dorm.

This would potentially be against NCAA rules. Busy as there cannot be an athletics only dorm.

This isn't at all a dorm, a'inal? Just a support (*cough*) building for the team with a huge amount of student-athletes...

MN's pouring $166MM into facilities, with over the Clemson amount to two football-only facilities.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Doesn't Kentucky have one?

Nope

The rules are that at LEAST 50% of the students living in these dorms must be non athletes.  Same goes for Kentucky's "palace".

Obscene.

Embarrassingly obscene.

Enough room for each player's personal assistant.

Laser tag is a thing again? I know it comes and goes every generation, didn't know it was back.

Also, wait til a lineman pulls a hammy diving behind an obstacle or a cornerback takes an errant putter to the eye socket.
