Congratulations to MU.  Hard and well fought.  Beat two very good teams on a neutral court.  A great way to start a season by winning an early season tournament against good competition.

+1.  Great bounce back after the Iowa embarrassment.  The team is buying in.  Again, we'll see a different team every night through December, but we're going to be alright.  3-2 through a difficult first 5 isn't outstanding, but it certainly won't kill us.

Color me pleasantly flabbergasted.  Night and day difference between the team that played the first 4 games, and the team that showed up in Brooklyn.

Yep - completely different team than the one we saw against Iowa.

We will still have maddening losses...but we are definitely trending in the right direction.

Nice to begin to build success.  Now we get to 'work on stuff' and improve in all facets of the game during the rest of non-con.

Wasn't the 4th game in Brooklyn?  ;)

We played really hard on defense and unafraid on offense. We still don't shoot it very well and make freshmen mistakes but this was the team I hoped we'd be this year.

Feels good to stack a couple wins. Enjoy this, and now have the chance to munch on a few cupcakes then walk into Madison with a little swagger at 7-2.

Do transfers actually have to pay their own way to travel with team? God the ncaa has some dumb regulations.

Definitely like to give some credit to Wojo for this one as well. He really got great effort out of these guys just days after it looked like they packed it in before the first TV timeout against Iowa.

The motivation was evident, and I especially liked the gameplan at the end against LSU, both going to Jajuan and pinching Simmons on both sides so he had to pass. Best coaching we've seen out of him so far.

Friar John Laurence, SJ. Be used to be a regular poster on IWB's board under the username MinnesotaJeb. Not sure if he posted here, but I think he was on other boards as well. As team chaplain, Fr. Laurence is no longer allowed to post, but nice knowing the guy on bench is one of us ;D

I think you are wrong about this.  Matt V. mentioned that he paid his own way.  Here is an article from the NY Times talking about how Duke is using its student assistance fund to help a transfer travel to road games.

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2015/11/20/sports/ncaabasketball/ap-bkw-t25-traveling-transfers.html

"NCAA rules prohibit schools from paying transfers — who have to sit out for a year — to travel to road games. Brown, however, can travel with the Blue Devils, because Duke asked if it could use money from the student assistance fund to pay for it."

You sure? Read an article earlier this week that he paid his own way to go with the team. Also says in this article that they can't travel with the team

Thanks. That's pretty cool that he has been around the MU message boards. I pulled up his MU bio, for anyone interested:

http://www.marquette.edu/theology/laurance.shtml

Looks like he is teaching two classes this semester. I would want to take those, as I assume class would be cancelled when he is traveling with the team.

Is Fr. Kelley ok? Just retired?
