For the record, I'm in the frustrated/something has to change but still believe in Wojo camp.  Having said that, Monday's match up will be very telling.

The only thing we're really hanging our hat on at this point is how young this team is.  Well according to KenPom, Marquette is 329 in the country at experience(0.89 yrs).  LSU is .......328(0.9 yrs).  So experience should not matter at all for Monday.  We'll found out if we have a coaching or talent gap (or both).

Very interested to see how things go.

I expect a loss. This team will not beat LSU. I hope we can keep it close.

The team that played against IUPUI and Iowa certainly won't. The team that played Belmont has a pretty decent chance.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Losing to Augustana seemed to help Iowa get focused.  Maybe the coaches get an attention bump this weekend.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Pride is a powerful motivator.  I don't expect a win, but a competitive game would be nice

Ben Simmons.

Take the LSU line and run to Vegas.

This. The team that played Belmont lost at home. LSU is a good team and we are not, yet.

Let's Go Warriors

I like to try to look at things even handed.  With almost the exact same level of experience as LSU, that at least should not be an excuse for everybody.  3 days rest.  That should be no excuse.  They have now played some pretty decent teams.  That should be no excuse.  No reason MU should not at least be very competitive.  On the other hand, there is no way we can EXPECT a win.  But they should at least be within 10 points.

Pressure is on. Two plus seasons of horrible ball has the natives restless. Aside from recruiting class I have seen little to be excited about in a long time. Not jumping ship but losing interest quickly.

Is LSU a good "team"...?  They have yet to be tested with easy wins over McNeese St, Kennesaw St. and South Alabama.  IUPUI is better than any of these teams.

This is why it's a significant measuring stick.  All of the reasons we haven't been successful the first 3 games are moot for this game.  This is a good assessment for two things, our talent and our coaching.  If we get blown out, at least one of those two things (if not both) are severely lacking

LSU's top three players in terms of minutes are all true freshmen. I don't expect a win right now, but I do think we'll be far more competitive than we saw on Thursday. I think this is a big statement game for the players and the coaches. If we are going to bounce back, this is the time. I think it'll be a good game.

How about talent difference? Ben Simmons vs anyone on our roster. There's a big difference there.

Belmont is down by 10 at the half today.......to Evansville.

So? Evansville is ranked #65 in Pomeroy, they are at home, their top-6 players in terms of minutes are all juniors and seniors, and they were picked to finish second in the MVC behind only Wichita State. They were also -6.5 favorites in this game. Not really surprising, and not like Belmont is playing a bad team.

I had a 1-4 start in my preseason prediction, I'm sticking with it.    I just want to see the team come out and compete hard.    I want to see effort on loose balls.   I want to see fire.   I want to see defensive intensity.   I want to see offensive sets run, versus just firing up the first available 3.

My measuring stick for the LSU game is to see if we play hard every second of every possession. That is something we can build off going forward irrespective of whether we win or lose.

I'll hit up Ben Simmons and tell him to go easy on us Monday night.

The Lens

I don't need a win to be happy.  Thursday reset my expectations to being satisfied with a competitive game.  It the team plays hard, that will be a huge step forward.

You may be right, but the first 3 games were already good measuring sticks. And right now, we measure pretty...short.
