It makes sense if they can get Grimes, now they go down there they can visit 2 kids.  I give credit for Wojo trying to recruit nationally.  Just get them to visit that
new arena next year, it might be the key selling point once done.

Twitter says we offered Tyrese Maxey. He is of the big fish variety. Ranked in the top 20 for the 2019 class. Another Texan combo guard. Clearly Grimes is going to come to Marquette, lead us to a national championship, go pro, and Wojo will have to reload.

If he commits, the on-campus stadium that will have been built by his sophomore or junior year will be called the Maxey Pad.

You guys are all dreaming thinking MU will build there own stadium?  Not going to happen!  The new stadium is going to be a home run for recruiting in the
future.  This stadiums amenties will be thru the roof.

Nope, Wojo needs tangible proof of the house he's building.

Huh???????

He has kids from Virginia to California on the roster. Florida to Michigan. More kids from outside of the USA than from Wisconsin.

As usual, I have no idea what you are talking about.

I am saying the last 6 or 7 recruits are Midwest kids.  Last year, 3 Michigan, 1 Minnesota, 1 Chicago and next year 1 from Wisconsin.    Anim is Minny and Hauser
is Wisco.  That is 7 out 12.  Add Heldt, now 8 out of 12.  I would say it is easier to get kids in the Midwest.   Texas - 0 for far.

Precisely why the on-campus stadium is a done deal.

Joey Hauser is skipping his senior year and coming to Marquette now?  Awesome!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Hauser and Marotta.

Make sure you count slowly, here. 3 in the first line; 2 in the second line. My belief is that 3 > 2.

Not a state.

True, but I think the original statement was "outside of the US." I think DC still counts as inside the US.

I want Wojo to get the best recruits, period.

Since Wisconsin is our home state, it makes sense to recruit the best players from Wisconsin. And Wojo's done that: Luke Fischer, Matt Heldt, Henry Ellenson, Sam Hauser and Joey Hauser were each nationally ranked players from Wisconsin. All good.

Since Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio are our Midwestern neighbors (not to mention rich in basketball talent), it makes sense to recruit the best players from those states. And Wojo's done that: Sacar Anim, Theo John, Ike Eke, Jamal Cain, Greg Elliott and Ed Morrow (Nebraska transfer and Chicago native) were each nationally ranked players within easy driving distance of Milwaukee. All good.

After that, it makes sense to recruit the best players we can get — wherever they're from. And Wojo's done that: Haanif Cheatham, Traci Carter, Katin Reinhardt, Andrew Rowsey, Markus Howard, Brendan Bailey and Harry Froling were each nationally ranked players from across the country (Florida, Pennsylvania, California, Virginia/North Carolina, Arizona, Utah and Australia/Texas). All good.

What's the issue?
